WARRIOR // LYRICS
Centuries of terrestrial life force flowing through our fingertips
Spirits of our ancestors guiding our hands
Supernatural entities benevolent and fused with nature, blessing our minds with endearing wisdom and the passion of warriors
A lone stranger will come to save us
A brewing tempest in the skin of a man
Brace for stainless steel, rendered useless by hand carven passion of the arrow wood
We willing martyrs will die to grant our people their better days
Wolves behind the masks, provoke conflict on our soil
Wolves behind the masks, the cowards descend upon the weak
Wolves behind the masks, walking in our brother's skins, calling our home their nation
Legendary malevolent creatures seeking souls to devour
Shaping shifting monstrosities, grinding their teeth
Warrior bloodlines flow through me
Brace for stainless steel, rendered useless by hand carven passion of the arrow wood
An omnipotent stranger appears and pauses battle with thunder in his words
I am the silence in piercing sound
Keep me close to you now
I am the shadow that tames the moon and paints the earth
When you feel the heat of that crushing moment, stand by me and never feel alone
I am the silence in piercing sound
I am the night
Breaking the walls that barricade our passion crushing fear
I am the shadow that blackens the moon
A lone stranger has come to save us
A brewing tempest in the skin of a man
The brave warrior cast out the darkness
His words of thunder now calm as the wind
I am the silence in piercing sound
Keep me close to you now
I am the shadow that tames the moon and paints the earth
When you feel the heat of that crushing moment, stand by me, and never feel alone
I am the silence in piercing sound
I am the night
Wolves behind the masks provoke conflict on our soil
Wolves behind the masks
The cowards descend upon the weak
Wolves behind the masks, walking in our brothers skins, calling our home their nation
Break the wall
Breaking the walls that barricade our passion, crushing fear

the vocalist looks like something you have to fight in a video game, and you have make a line of explosive mines that he runs over while he chases you, and it only takes off like a quarter of his health.

Its nuts how HUGE the difference in production quality is from Erra just from the switch to Sumerian. Jesse's vocals have matured so well into this EP and I love it. Ian is a great replacement too, still not the same without Garrison but I expect great things from Erra with their next full length, and at least Garrison will have some awesome merch to create for the band haha. The world needs more great bands like Erra, from the instrumentals to the fantastic lyricism this band sets the bar for what GOOD metalcore is. (I use the term "Metalcore" loosely, so genre nazi's please dont lose your shit in the comments)

As I reflect on this EP I hear this as a bridge between Augment and Drift, probably because it quite literally was. You can start to hear the sound and style of drift slowly forming in this EP. the verses sound like drift then the pre chorus sounds like augment then the chorus sounds like drift

That turn at 3:33 is badass haha. Also never noticed how cool the riff is in this song that you see being played at 3:29. The vocals are great, kind of remind me of In Hearts Wake a little bit. I'm looking forward to hearing the improvements on your next release :)
