Totally agree with your take. It doesn't sound like "every" erra song. I suggest people always listen to new music with clear mind (not while doing something else) and on their fav headphones. This song has subtlety and fullness to the sound, production is definitely less in your face, more viby. In most songs in this genre you feel like youre in a gig front row, holding the barriers, headbanging while getting smacked by the sound. Here I feel I'm walking out in the field, vibing the shit out of the song. As I grow older I come to respect these kind of songs more and more. And erra guys grow older too. I understand that. This is the "band growing up" (another good example is periphery) not the sellout "growing up" shit you see in bmth and such bands. The song itself is simple but underlying rythm is not - you are being fooled to think it's simple. It's harder to come up with such riffs and make them sound good and viby, than it is to write fast lead guitar part (not to say this is better than old erra, i love both old and new, just in different ways) If you want to better experience music you need to broaden your horizons, analyze, not just put on speakers and blindly take in the sound - thats what the kids do in public with their JBL's while scrolling tiktok.

It's the first song I heard from them, but listening to the last three songs in unbroken sequence feels oh so heavenly. From Augment, it's either Pulse or Frostbite. Shadow Autonomous is definitely my most revisited ERRA track. But they just simply can’t miss. This one took me a few listens to really dig into, but wow it’s a really fun experiment. I love the weird bends, the long drawn out chorus, and JT somehow sounds even better than the self-titled (which I thought was impossible). I cannot wait for the full record. Love these boys.
