I think people underestimate Spence’s skill. He gets stereotyped as a mauling pressure fighter but he does everything technically right. He jabs, controls distance. Not comparing Mikey to Crawford but this could be somewhat a preview considering Spence has such a size advantage. If he controls the distance masterfully like he did in this fight I don’t see what Crawford can do.

I don't get it. all these fighters have moved up in weight class with no fan fair but Mikey. Mikey beats Lipinets at 140, both are punchers. Both move up to 147. Spence needs to fight someone who isn't coming up or moving down two weight classes to fight him before we can say if Spence is even better than guys on Danny Garcia or Ugas level, let alone Thurman or old Pacquiao or Crawford. I know that probably sounds crazy to you for me to say after all the hype and recognition Spence has gotten after the Mikey fight from the boxing media, but you have to realize those guys are generally corporate shills who will hype up illusions any time they think they can get away with it without the public realizing. No one has any sure way of calculating exactly how much moving up or down two weight classes affected Mikey and Brook, respectively, so since there's no way of calculating for sure, the media uses that gap in knowledge to push their illusion. But real boxing fans know, it has to have some sort of effect. Certainly the effect on Mikey moving up was much easier to see than the effect on Brook. Brook still looked great physically, at welterweight, even after coming down, but he gassed halfway through the fight, customary of someone who is weight drained, and his orbital bone gave out, customary of someone who had their other orbital bone broken very recently, then had a metal plate inserted on that side of the face which weakens the structural foundation of other orbital because it's not balanced. Only now that Brook had a metal plate put on the other side too has his Dr. said that he should be able to box without them breaking now because it's balanced again. So even though Brook looked good the first 6 rounds vs Spence, and he physically looked ripped, what happened the second half of the fight is textbook results of moving down two weight classes and having the orbital injury. And given that the second half of the fight was the only time Spence looked better than Brook, what makes anyone think Spence is any better than Brook when he was healthy, meaning a B+ welterweight? Spence's only success in the top 10 was against Brook only after the effects of weight cutting and injury weakened Brook significantly, and against Mikey coming up two weight classes with too much bulk on him. And 34 year old 140 pounder Lamont Peterson lol. And Spence took twice as long to stop him as Matthysse did when Peterson was in his prime and at his best weight class 140... So if you really start to break stuff down, Spence might be the biggest hypejob we've seen in boxing the last 10 years, at least since Broner. He's better than Broner but he's still unproven at the A-level. Broner might be C+ right now, Spence might be B+, but even when you're B+, you're still a major hypejob if everyone is calling you A+ like the media is with Spence, know what Im saying? But I could be wrong. He could still improve and prove what the media is saying about him. Im just saying so far, anyone who thinks he already has proved he's A-level is being taken for a major ride by the boxing propagandists in the media, and they are not looking deeply enough at who Spence has fought and under what circumstances and how his performances have compared to other fighters who faced those guys.

Pacquiao is the best at taking your lead hand away. We are talking about a guy who has been at a disadvantage and fight bigger opponents his whole life. I find him having a harder fight with opponents that are the same size as him. He takes away your lead hand by countering you everytime you try to establish your jab to keep distance. You get counter so many times you stop throwing your jab and left you nothing but to cover up and that's what manny wants. Without your lead hand to keep manny at bay he's able to get off his fast combination and establish his angles. If you look back at manny past fights with taller and bigger opponents they always start out with jabs to control the range but at the end they all left with nothing but to cover up and getting hit through the guards. They all end up the same with bruises and bloody. The only man that kept manny at bay and did pretty well was floyd until he got counter a few times and left him with nothing but to cover up or grab and hold manny.
