The United Nations has proclaimed the 20 May as the World Bee Day. To mark this occasion we have organised the ERSTE Foundation Annual Community Encounter, which took place in Vienna at Erste Campus on 17 May 2023.
The world around us is changing at a breath-taking pace, and we believe that the things we eat, taste, smell and feel make these transformations immediately tangible to us. This can be about the way people think and act, the question of how a green transformation will be possible or new perspectives for the way society as we know it is developing. All of these things provided an opportunity for us to to reflect and cook visions of the future together with our community.
On this occasion, the food trend expert Hanni Rützler spoke about
"Food change: what does the future taste like?"
Food is a complex and diverse cultural practice. It helps shape a sense of community, mirrors values, lifestyles and traditions in the way it is grown, produced or prepared. It is therefore subject to constant transformation. What are the current fundamental changes in food culture here in Europe and globally? How is the way we see the world influenced by the way we eat?
