Ertiga Tyre upgrade to MRF 195/65/15 with advantages & error

I'm using Yokohama BluEarth 195/65 R15 excellent tyres for the Ertiga ZDI (2014). Handling Grip Cornering everything has improved. Tyre noise has decreased significantly and ride comfort is excellent. Have done 74k on my 7 year old Ertiga have reached 161kmph with the Yokos wouldn't dare 130 kmph on the stock MRF zvtv.

Awesome! Mine is 2014 zdi too...78k till now. I upgraded to continental 195 65 15 immediately after buying. I could go only upto 140 max...which was a disappointment as I had gone beyond that in my swift earlier. 160+ sounds good! A useful comment for me. Thanks!

Hi, I am buying the new Swift ZXi+ AMT in couple of days and I am planning to upsize the stock tyres from 185/65/R15 to 195/65/R15. Will this affect 1. vehicle stability - due to increase in ground clearance by 7mm 2. scrap the side-wall or the wheel arch 3. steering capabilities 4. fuel mileage? I am not considering anything on width 205 since I thought it would be too wide and any other 195 combination (like 195/60/R15) is only producing a decrease in at least 3.5mm ground clearance. The only tyre I am considering is Yokohama BlueEarth-GT 195/65R15. If this doesn't work I would at least want to change from the stock OEM 185/65/R15 to Yokohama BlueEarth-GT 185/65R15. Your earliest advice please🙏

Brother i upgraded to 195/60/r15 4 years back to yoko earth 1. Its been more then 50K km now and i am again about to change the tires. I did this after lots of analysis. I found out 195/60 to be perfect fit. Decreased GC increased stability and look of the enhanced.

If you upside the width by 5 mm then you should reduce the profile by 5 mm Eg- stock 185/60R15 Upgrade to 195/55R15 Not 195/60R15

185 / 70 R14 is correct size to upsize, because maruti used the same setup. Ritz vdi = 165/80 R14 Ritz zdi = 185/70 R14 I recommend MICHELIN XM2+ TYRE, ONE OF THW BEST TYRE, INDIAN REVIEW AVAILABLE ON KZbin, XM2 PLUS

185/65 R15 MRF should be perfect & spare Tyre can be a bit smaller. Make sure not to use it on high speed & more than 80KMs.

@@veeral01 honda city is a different car with stock 175/65 r15. if you are using 195/65 r15 in honda city diameter of tyre will increase by 26mm which make a big differents.

Ha. I have Installed Suzuki Baleno Steel Rims/wheels caps with Yokohama Earth1 195/65 R15 tires & 35PSI nitrogen on all 4 tires. The Car Model is Suzuki Swift VDI 1st Generation (Type4) 2011. The car's ground clearance has increased phenomenally. Rides flat on rough roads. No bumps felt inside. High speed stability is so good. Handling improved. Grip is beyond expectations. Car drive at 90 100 speeds on curves without feeling uneasy. Less bodyroll. No underbody scraping. Fuel efficiency on highway 23kmpl. In city 16-18kmpl. Note:- All suspension components/Brake discs callipers,Brake shoes all 4 side are replaced with new components before upgrading to 15inch wheels. Our swift has run 165000kms till date. Upgrade to new suspensions,brakes,wheels,tires was done at 157217kms.

that is bad idea because you dont have much wide rim now and you get a floating ride now and also you lose acceleration due to the extra weight of the tyre. You also get a harder ride because these tires have a higher load capacity and are harder than the previous ones.

Yokohama Earth1 195/65 R15 is light years ahead of the crappy MRFs. Suggest your friend to try them once... I'm on my 3rd set of Yokohama Earth1s with 1lakh 55thousand kilometers of experience with them. 🙌

Rohit Shinde Hi buddy. I somehow have a different experience though. I have Yokohama Earth1 Tyres of 195/65 R15 size installed on my generation 1 Ertiga. I got these installed at about 54k kilometres and I’m running 76k kilometres on my odometer now, so that’s about 22k kilometres so far and I have to sadly say that these tyres have not been much good other than the grip/handling (lateral movement prevention). Other aspects such as bounce/roll (vertical/rotational vehicle movement) is evidently pronounced with the use of the upsized tyres. Besides, the acceleration surge is also slow (second to the turbo lag I experience on the diesel VDI). Thirdly, road noise is greatly audible. I am aware of a particular model in the MRF brand called Perfinza and I have experienced a ride on this tyre (upsized but on a different vehicle - a Vento), I can notice that the driveability/ride quality (bounce/roll and handling i.e., grip have improved with absolutely little to no drop in acceleration and a silent ride on the tarmac. I was wondering a) if I could find out whether the Perfinza model of tyres are available for the Ertiga and that b) if I use them, would it help me successfully overcome the road noise problem (even on Tarmac) without compromising on the handling (grip)/ride quality (bounce/roll) aspects.

Broo..Your statement feels pointless. Im not judging you but have you ever driven on Cool Indian roads/highways with huge potholes,big stones,sudeen rough patches? Most cars people here in India use are to get from point A to B. Basic needs is to have good cushioning effects from tires which is only achieved through descent sidewall of tires than the width of tire. Bhai Ji, Tiago or Tigor ka mileage near about same hi hai. Practically, city PE 14 se 18 or highway PE 21 see 26 ya phir jayda, depends on driving. Aap Tyre pressure 30 pe rakh Kar 50-100 km Chala ke check Kar sakte ho, agar improve nahi hota to agali baar 32, 34 or 36 Tak try Kar ke dekh sakte ho. Agar uske Baad bhi improve nahi hota to apko Tata see consult karna padega. Ye diesel hai ya petrol ?
