When I lived in the USA I found Amtrak to give good service but was not really liked by the locals who just want to go door-to-door by oil guzzling automobiles. Very much enjoyed you views of the Coast Starlight and Cascade--many thanks

Great video!! The most "simple" train we see on it (not the emblematic double floor one) is the Talgo series 8, a train made by Spanish TALGO for Amtrack with it's modern technology: ultra light coaches and "natural tilting" system. The best of our Spanish trains translated to the great American trains. Something lovely to see, indeed :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talgo

American trains might not be as streamlined and bulkier especially famously using steel instead of alluminum, which makes them heavier, but the double deckers are huge. Interesting rail road crossing and I love the sound of the american horns and bells even though I am a huge fan of French, German, Japan, China and Spanish railways. Must visit America one day.

Ces voies ondulées, ces cloches, ces avertisseurs, ... tout ce bruit, c'est effarant. Et les passages à niveau sans barrières! Nous sommes gâtés en Europe!
@Railtrotter10 жыл бұрын
@jeanmariebalaes113710 жыл бұрын
mika67407 C'est tout de même vrai que ces trains américains font un sacré tapage à l'approche des "crossings". À mon avis, il vaut mieux habiter à plus de cinq kilomètres d'un passage à niveau si on veut vivre en paix. ;-)

Great videos. If you don't mind a little hint. The distortion we see during the passing of the engines is due to being so close to the ELECTROMAGNETS contained in each set of wheels. A few feet backward should help take that away. Otherwise. Great job.

It's also the same for Marana & Loser City Tucson, AZ and many cities & towns across the country where the train engineers are not allowed to sound the train horn when going through a crossing, entering & leaving a train station, fright train yard at all. But a person or persons can blast loud music as loud as they want when stopped at a red light, stop sign, and make loud motorcycle sounds as loud as they like, and nothing is done to them at all.

Wish Amtrak had Business Class on the long distance trains, such as Coast Starlight. Bedroom space is limited, and when I travel last minute, I'll fly before I go straight coach. I travel alone, and having to sit next to a stranger between Seattle and Los Angeles isn't gonna happen! If Amtrak would wall off the last half of the last coach with large biz class seating, I would give it a try, and pay more for the semi-privacy. I wouldn't expect the same complimentary meals as sleeper class. Perhaps just a coffee card would do. A single traveler in coach is subject to being moved around to accommodate couples and families. A first class coach section would be well received, I believe.
@gladfan19898 жыл бұрын
They are now incorporating Business Class seating on long haul trains. Coast Starlight is one of them.

Robert: I will certainly agree with you that improved track conditions are certainly needed, the track could use a ballast cleaner and a good resurfacing. As for equipment, DB uses some double decked cars in suburban service out of large cities which are about the same size as an Amtrak Superliner..
Is there also railfans in America, Oh my god, I have a dream for visit to America for try this amazing train and join make a some videos and reach a some great experience with railfans of there... Ooh God may you blessing my wishes.. Ameenn.. 😆😆😐
