Erzurum is a city where I was born and raised and practiced the art of minstrelsy for years. I suggest you draw attention to the fact that the region is an important center for minstrel literature. Thank you for your interest.

Actually we shared about “asiklik” tradition in our other video in Kars since is there where we had the chance to experience it, I must say that I loved it and is an important tradition that more people should be aware of, that even is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage, I have also shared something about it on my Instagram page ❤️

I am South African Turk. My great grandfather Sheikh Abubaker Effendi lived in Erzerum. We visited Erzerum in 2017. We stayed at hotel at the Palandoka Mountain. It was very cold but we enjoyed visiting all the historical sites. Also visited the madrassa where my Great Grandfather taught. We were very well received by the City Manager Ergun Bey and Mayor Sekmen of Erzerum. Turkush people are very hospitable, we have beautiful memories of our time in Erzerum

Endless thanks to you as a folk poet from Erzurum for sharing a nice video about Erzurum. Erzurum and Kars regions come to the forefront throughout Turkey with their historical and natural beauties, natural delicacies, as well as "the tradition of minstrelsy". It is important for those who come to this region to have information about the "minstrel tradition" in terms of getting to know the culture of the region. I recommend you to take a look at the videos I shared to get a brief idea about this subject. Thanks again...

Yeah! It is so sad that we cannot find much information on these places except that they are good for winter sports, and we couldn’t cover many other places that are also good to visit, we just covered the city center but outside the main city there are some beautiful waterfalls that locals recommend a lot (100km away from Erzurum center), etc. This is the only video, at least in English, showing a bit of Erzurum and what’s there to see/do.

Saying “Eastern Anatolia” literally means Eastern Eastern. Anatolia means Eastern. The phrase “Eastern Anatolia” was initiated by Ataturk to replace the previous name “Armenian Vilayets” or Armenian Highland, for obvious reasons. My paternal grandparents were from Erzurum. Survivors of the Armenian Genocide. I would like to visit Erzurum. It would be nice for Armenians and Turks to emphasize their similarities and celebrate those similarities and start a new positive chapter in their shared history.

@atillakaragazi8382 жыл бұрын
Anatolia is homeland of many civilizations and ethnic groups. Human settlement in Anatolia goes back at least 15,000 years, way before than the Armenians. Only for a short period of time Armenians controlled the territories you mentioned as an independent state/kingdom. Most of the time they preserved their existence as a vassal of Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Turks, and Mongols. The land has been under Turkish control for 10 centuries, except for brief Mongolian and Russian periods. Armenians still could have been in Anatolia if they didn't try to assassinate the sultan, and their leaders didn't take the side of the enemies of Ottomans and cooperate with them.
