Ford F100 Rear Fender Mods With Hank Stacey & Kevin

As the 1953 F100 front fenders are getting close to done we checked the back fenders and found the wide rear tires came too close to the outer wheel lip. We didn't like how the back of the truck looked with theses fenders as they rolled in the back inward too far. So we corrected two issues today by fabricating metal and expanding the width a certain amount to clean it all up. Hank and Stacey showed up to Help Kevin today..... the banter back and forth with these two is always interesting.

I know you have been doing this for awhile but I would think a tight butt weld using a tig machine with silicon bronze filler wire ( softer and easer to grind and hammer out, plus takes less heat to weld ) is a better job then using those Eastwood spacer clamps. 😃 Of course you could but that wire in your mig machine as well. Like I said, a heck of a lot easier to work. Unless you are already using that wire. Then please except my apologies for jumping all over you.🤣

Yes. MID Fifty sells them... we later instaled them on this truck bed
