[ESA 2017] The Game Gear Shinobi 2 (100%) speedrun in

The run itself was done on an actual Game Gear because unlike the first GG Shinobi game, it was not re-released to 3DS Virtual Console.
I did the first game last year as a bonus so it was a perfect opportunity to do the second game in 2017 and there are some cool tricks you can pull off in this game most notably, grapple storage.
Money was raised towards Save The Children

GG Shinobi 2 is my favourite Shinobi game. It's good to see it being run! EDIT: I'm actually watching it now. How exactly does that Blue Ninja trick work? I may end up trying to run this game. Looks fun to run so far!

Excellent run! If you ever attempt it again, you might be interested in knowing that there is a patch that adapts the game so that it can run on Master System hardware via Everdrive, giving you more screen space (and potentially an easier-to-deal-with signal due to the higher and slightly more common resolution). I never knew there were four power ups in the trees in pink's castle!

The problem with the Master System version is that it has less colours than the Game Gear and running it on Master System hardware is cumbersome for a pause button. While controller 2's down button is a solution according to the patch notes, it's not really ideal when it comes to pulling off grapple swing storage. I'll stick to the Game Gear version and play it on an Analogue Mega SG.
