Love the live performance, but just like Blind Guardian and Queen, I believe you have to listen to their studio stuff to really appreciate how powerful those vocals are when treated with the respect they deserve.

Nooras vocals are amazing, so complex and she performs so brilliantly live, its very difficult to be able to combine her soprano voice with the rasping, distortion and belting, she does it brilliantly.

Always good idea to kick out the composer songwriter who started the band. We can see the results from Stratovarius and Helloween. Helloween came back from loosing Kaj Hansen, but never as great like it was when Hansen wrote the songs to Kiskes voice. Stupid people! Her voice is amazing, but it doesn't carry very far without genius composer.

Its not quite the same thing though. If you look at the facts not only are the two albums without Anton more successful numerically, based on fan polling the favourite album of most BB fans is actually the 4th album. So don't pretend the band with Anton was somehow good and without they are a bunch of clueless numpties. I like all BB albums by the way. Yes their music now is less heavy due to musical direction but at the same time the band, music and songs are in many ways also better than with Anton. For example, you cant deny the lyrics and lyrical themes are much more sophisticated than what Anton writes about his favourite manga. The music's much more diverse, its more melodic so on and so on. To not see the pros as well as the cons just means bias has put blinders on. You don't like it, or prefer it. Fair enough, there are small number who think the same. But I would say 100%, that the best days of BB are actually well into their future. Even now its early days for the band. For example, they are one of the best live performers you could hope to see yet they haven't released a single live album, a single live DVD. 99.9% of what people hear of the band is crowd cam footage. If people find that impressive how do you think they will find the actual experience. One of the other key differentiators of the band is the strength and depth of their catalogue. They don't just have a few good songs and the rest forgettable, every song they have (60 ish songs) could have a place in the set list. Not once have they yet done a US headlining tour, so current success is also achieved with basically zero penetration into the biggest music market. What do you think will happen once some of the American market starts to discover a band like this. In USA, they have only ever been support band playing 20-30 min set, so US audiences have only heard like 4 or 5 songs (also not their best songs tbh). On their last US tour they didn't even have Black Ninja on the set list, Black Fucking Ninja which was even the song through which I discovered the band years ago. You really think if the band wasn't confident or couldn't stand behind their current material they would exclude songs like Black Ninja from the set list. The other key factor is that they have Noora. Having checked out pretty much everything she has done on her solo stuff, private gigs, social media clips ect. She is for sure not a one trick pony (i.e metal voice). I'm telling you, from what I've seen she could sing practically anything and it would still sound awesome; Jazz, POP, Dance, soul, funk whatever. So she enables the band to go in many more directions than your typical metal band would be able to. They would be wise to maximise that asset. That's why my preference for the band is diversity, if you can do it all, then do it all, i want some soft stuff, some hard stuff, some fucking heavy fast stuff. Fortunately, that's the direction they seem to be going in without Anton and so I think bright things to come from this band.

@@satsumaking4635 An excellent, thoughtful and well constructed reply. I have only recently discovered Battle Beast but love every single song I have heard so far. Really like the diversity of style and songs. They are fun, uplifting and just a pleasure to listen to, with or without Anton and the original vocalist (can't remember her name at the moment.) I like everything so far.
