Welkin, Isara, and Alicia (and apparently Noce?) just show up to Headquarters in the late general's fully armed and functional prototype tank. I would have loved a scene on that moment.

One of the best games with great narrative I played for a strategy rpg. Reminds me of Suikoden but in a modern warfare setting. 2 nations fighting over source of power and you are trapped in between which makes you the silver lining. The music is also composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto which is the composer for FF12 Zodiac Age.

Wow, I tried using Penetration and Demolition Boost on a Lancer and Welkin's Tank to destroy the big lance on 18A and they didn't help at all. I needed 3 turns to complete the mission because I had to shoot the lance with the tank 10 times. Didn't think of using those on a shocktrooper. Really cool strat.

Didn't realize how insane the orders were in this game. Destroying boss tanks with scouts...lol

ooooh yeah. They fixed things somewhat in the later games, but in 1 it's crazy. Demolition Boost makes any unit better at killing tanks than Lancers are, because the deciding factor ends up being number of shots. Caution and Defense Boost make scout rush (generally, Alicia rush) even more powerful than it already was. Awaken Potential... what if you could pretty much guarantee that Double Movement, Mysterious Body, or Ultimate Accuracy kicks in? Yeah, that changes tactics a bit.

It made me laugh how he's all confused how that lancer saw him and hit him.... "I was in smoke" except the fact the rear of his tank was just on complete show outside of the smoke

I feel like I did not explain it very well there. You can only get shot at if you have sight lines on you, which I did not have at the time. It is normal for your butt to be sticking out, imperials are weird when it comes to vision. In my time playing, I have only seen this happen once (twice after this lol) in 16, and I have heard another runner saw it in 18-1. I actually rewatched the VoD recently and am surprised this happened in a marathon run lol.
