It's not a show of personality lol Speedrunning is about optimization and people are bound to use the same strats if it's the fastest. The routing has changed many times thanks to active patches by From software. It is true not a lot of runners innovate the routes, only a fraction of the community made game-breaking discoveries that drastically changes the way you speedrun the game, but those who don't innovate, optimize

Follow peoples actual channels if you want to see new strats come about and know what the hell you're watching before you bother making yourself look foolish by complaining about it.
