A very underappreciated game run by a professional with informative commentary. It is really hard to run a game for 4 hours while constantly talking AND having something interesting and insightful to say. Really good job!

I think it's slowly more important how you present the run more often than speedrunning the game. I'd take a 5-10 minute slower run with all the substantive commentary over a guy who says nothing relevant and finishes faster. I get not all people are great talker so it's good to bring maybe a couch buddy to help and some runners do indeed do that which is great.

@@mariuszj3826 I don't even think it's slowly becoming that way. Commentated speedruns are kind of like Let's Plays, except better in most ways. If I don't know anything about a game I wouldn't gain anything from an uncommentated speedrun, but if it is commentated I can get so much insight into the inner workings and even the community memes and opinions.

The runner was great, im always alittle afraid when theres no commentator that it will be boring but! This guy played it great and went into the strategys , while keeping us up to date with the story. One of the best speedruns from eu summer speedrun

@5:15 ah, the good old Ancient Cave. The original randomizer. Given how popular randomizer-type games are nowadays, it’s amazing how far ahead of it’s time Natsume was when they created that part of the game.

This is by far the best game in the series. All the other games feel like they took just one aspect from this game to flesh out. This game is an all around great game with puzzles, minigames, interesting equipment, deep combat with all kinds of interesting mechanics, monsterbreeding, a big world with lots of locations, a great way to do enemy encounters in dungeons and ofcourse the ancient cave. Modern RPGs could stand to copy stuff from this since in some ways it far more advanced then the final fantasies of the era.

This game is really mean, because they keep Dekar alive after telling you he died. So you think it's going to be that kind of a story. But then they kill the two freaking main characters, leaving their child as an orphan. Like wtf? They really fuck with your emotions like that. I feel like I never truly got over it.

Wow, an amazing run. I find it funny that Lufia 2 is played by a Dutch guy because Lufia 2 was the only really good game translated in Dutch on the SNES. A Dutch game on SNES was a big deal in the Netherlands. Well... unless you consider tin tin games good games...

Ahh is that the reason I remember it so well. Had the game when I was a little kid, I was wondering how the 7 year old me could complete some of these puzzles when they were in English. But it makes sense now.

Love this game. Killed the egg drake but never got to floor 99 of the ancient cave. Might have to dust the old snes off and try again.

A shame the video capture keeps skipping/buffering and interrupts the flow. Excellent commentary and run, but the visual hitches make it a 9/10 for me. Hope leaving a comment helps in the algorithm
