But here for the sake of the record of correct history, I think the interview by the 2 guests here are saying because Mengistu fled to Zinbabwe on Tuesday May 13 E.C., the Ethiopian 2nd revolutionary army was abandoning the Dekemhare front line. Now, this is categorically incorrect, false and misleading the public. The two guests here are trying to put all blame for the 2nd army's defeat and reason why the guests +General Hussien fleeing to Saudi. But the TRUE reason why Mengistu fled on Tuesday was because the Eritrean force fighters started attacking the Dekemhare front Ethiopian army on Sunday, May 11,1983 E.C. in the morning hours (4am Ethiopian time ) and the Ethiopian frontline at Dekemhare was broken by the Eritrean fighters on Tuesday, May 13, 1983 E.C. and on the defeat of Ethiopian army at this dekemhare front was the main reason qhy Mengistu fled to Zonbabwe in addition to the EPRDF/Eplf eritrean mechanized units in Ethiopia were also around Ambo, about 100 KM away from Addis. So these two guests trying to say that the Ethiopian army fled from Dekemhare front is false. The Ethiopian army fought hard from Sunday May 11 to Tuesday May 13 at Dekemhare, they fought defending their positions, even the Ethiopian army successfully slowed the Eritrean army there, until the relentless non stop Eritrean attack caused the Ethiopian army defeat at dekemhare in Tuesday May 13 1983 E.C. Only then did Mengistu fled on that same day, Tuesday. Once the Ethiopian army at dekemhare was defeated, the army found it hard to establish a new defensive frontline, and counter attacking the rebels were a tall order as the moral and capacity was dwindling by then, thanks to the fleeing of Mengistu and the death and injuring and lack of supplies to the Ethiopian army. These are the key facts brothers and sisters as why the General Hussien and the 2 guests here then decided to leave their 2nd Ethiopian army in Eritrea and flee to Saudi. They contributed to the 2nd army's demise and death in Eritrea. However, over 120,000 Ethiopian soldiers were pardoned as POWs by Eritrean fighters though their leaders here fled in comfort by helicopters and taking the bank coffins at asmara bank with them. I taking the time to write this because I feel like the public is always told by these kind of interview a false narration of key periods and turning points of the history. Always ask research question to get a full more credible version of our history. Don't let history be told in convenient ways as Mr Eyob and his guests want to put it. The guests and General Husein abandoned their army. Now this is an eternal fact. The guests are trying to white wash this/their act by attempting to blame it on Mengistu's fleeing to Zinbabwe. Mengistu fleeing yes contributed to the army's lack of will to continue to fight, the will was already ALREADY ALREADY BROKEN BY THE ERITREAN ARMY AT DELEMHARE FRONT ON THE DAY MENGISTU THUS DECIDED TO FLEE SAYI NG GAME OVER. THE 2 GUESTS NEED TO OWN THEIR SHARE IN why the army was abandoned bare alone. Fact checking, my brothers and sisters, will set us free from false narration of history. The 2 guests and General Hussien need to own their share of history-that is they decided to abandon (shishit) the army. Dont blame the army they refused to fight, no they fought. hard but their enemy the Eritrean fighters took the battle to levels the army could not overcome and thus Eritrea war ended the way it finally ended. So the Eritrean army took Dekemhare after a bitter attack. These set chain of fleeing, first Mengistu decided his game was over and fled to Zinbabwe. Then as the Eritreans continued to attack the Ethiopian army and inched towards Asmara, the 2 guests and the Generals then notices the game was over and the army was eventually going to be defeated, and the 2 guests and the likes of General Hussein abandoned their troops and fled by helicopter to Saudi. Other Generals distributed all the stalin organ armored trucks, fuel, water tank trucks, food rations between themselves and lead a convoy of fleeing troops fled from asmara area towards the sudanese border, cutting through undefended Eritrean fighters lines of Barka. Took refuge in Sudan. While majority, over 80,000 fleeing Ethiopian army convoy soldiers in the Barka Eritrea hot weather lowlands were blocked from reaching Sudan and were taken POWs by the Eritrean fighters. Many however died as water and their food rations were limited in their convoy. Their Generals however many made it to sudan. The 80,000+ POWs at the Barka lowlands were pardoned by the Eritrean fighters and allowed free to go to their homes and villages in Ethiopia. Just doing fact check here. You can fact check this history for yourself as well. Just fact check with multiple CREDIBLE sources! You have to have credible sources or else you will end up learning incorrect history. Now that is a disservice and an insult to your intelligence brothers and sisters. I am out

It is sad that the two brotherly countries fought such a bloody war. However, we all need to tell the truth. First, Mengistu Hailemariam left Ethiopia after Shabia broke the Decemhare front. Derg lost the war a year earlier when Shabia captured Massawa. The derg soldiers were stranded in Eritrea without any human and material supply after the liberation of Massawa. Second, despite all the atrocities committed by the Derg soldiers, Shabia gave them a safe exit to Sudan. For those who were captured, the Eritrean people were treating them with respect and dignity until they were sent back to Ethiopia. Third, I do not want to talk about General Hussien who killed many Derg military officers and innocent Eritreans, let history judge him. We should learn from our dark past history in building our bright future. This will benefit the two sisterly countries, presenting stories far from the fact will not benefit us. History should be told the way it was.
