Who designed those stops? Some are placed at the other side of the road, there are no facilities, etc. Also why does the tram keep getting in and out of traffic.
@NikolausUndRupprecht
@NikolausUndRupprecht 4 жыл бұрын
Mikel Sopelana Durango, that way it is more fun for everyone. Both tram drivers and car drivers have to concentrate more, although the greater burden is on the car drivers. Trams can take a hit, but in a car you can risk your life. In my town (we have a tram system, too) cars colliding with trams are a regular annoyance. And it is almost always the car drivers fault. Tram stations where there is no platform are also common in many other cities. Usually they are at least combined with a traffic light that stops car traffic so that tram passengers can get in and out without being hit by a car.
@Pidalin
@Pidalin 4 жыл бұрын
@@NikolausUndRupprecht I think stops without platform are illegal here in Czech Republic, but I understand in some places there is no way to build platform. I saw stops without platforms first time in Poland, I jumped from tram directly to road, I was like "WTF???" but car drivers know how it works and have to stop behind tram. EDIT: It's not illegal, it's only not so common, but in smaller cities it's also common here, lik in this picture www.cspsd.cz/storage/567.jpg I would guess picture is from Pilsen. I know few such places in Prague (maybe it's Prague, I am not sure) but there is mostly higher level of road with slowing bumbers or something like that.

Byłem tam w sobotę i łącznie kursowały 3 wozy.

Where are you from? This is normal in Europe. You can't have ticket machines and seats everywhere when you have stop every few hunderd meters. It's your responsibility if you have ticket or not, ticket checker doesn't care about some machines. You can sometimes buy it from driver (not common in city public transportation) or with phone app or SMS ticket or just buy some paper tickets to stock. But most of people living in cities have pass for month or year so this is not so big problem. Here in Czech Republic most of stops have seats and shelter, but ticket machines are only somewhere in touristic center or near to metro stations. Now you can buy ticket by card in tram in most of modernised trams. People who don't have bank account and card have very complicated life today. For example my father. When we was in Pilsen in weekend - only one possibility to buy ticket is in tram with card, that's not smart I think, manyl older people don't want bank account or they just can't have account because of debts and executions. That single track routes in Germany are funny, but I understand there is no way to do it different in shat narrow streets. In Prague we have advantage that we have wide streets, but I know in other cities this is also common.
@CityWhisperer
@CityWhisperer 4 жыл бұрын
@@Pidalin well I'm from Europe, and my local tram network has ticket machines in almost all stations. I could understand that you cannot have them in all, but for what I can see in this video almost none of them have one. The stations are also sometimes at the other side of the street, no seats, no shelter. Doesn't make much sense to me.

@@CityWhisperer Machines are mostly in touristic places and near to metro where people are transfering to tram, local people have month pass mostly and you can buy tickets in newspaper stands and small shops in streets which is on every corner so why do you need ticket machines? Many of our cities are removing machines because it cost many money to constantly repairing that when someone destroy that. I can't speak for Germany, but it's same cultural region as my country and it looks like their cities (especially in former eastern Germany) look almost same as here in Czechia so I am guessing it works same in Germany, I would say almost everyone who is using public transportation has month or year pass so there is actually no reason have ticket machines everywhere.
