Another idea inspired by the book "Godel, Escher Bach", by Douglas Hofstadter, is the creation of a modulation that never ends, or rather, that despite the feeling of modulation we realize that we are in the same exact place. Taking as an example the "Canon a 2 per tonos" from The Musical Offering BWV 1079 by J. S. Bach, the canon is designed so that it modulates one whole step throughout the entire tempo; Thus, after six times through, the music returns to C Minor where it began, but an octave higher. "Escada" is a hyper-simplified, vertical, short version that works only through the irregular harmonic structure of 15 bars and the alternation of the strong harmonic rhythm of the 1st degree with the 3rd and 6th degrees. And of course, "Escada" (ladder) refers to the lithograph print named "Relativity" by Dutch artist M. C. Escher. #newalbum #aperture
