This is a how to on how to swap profile on these radios to get SWC to control radio itself versus the Bose amplifier in Escalades. This is only for when ditching the Bose amp and goin full aftermarket.

Have you found out how to play movies? I can watch videos and movies clips off you tube but cannot play movies it gives me some booshit about not being formatted. I don't get very much free time to just dig through it. And the other thing I'm not digging at the moment is mine displays the same screen as the head unit on the rear screen. I have a 20" and it displays on like 80% of the screen with all the controls and settings displayed as well there has to be a way to change these issues. Thanks mane🤙

Yes that is a flaw with the output being on a yellow composite jack. Hopefully future models will be HDMI out.

You can buy these units on Amazon, for about 700 bucks I think. The install takes like 10 minutes. I’d recommend doing it yourself, it’s not that hard and can save you some money. There are videos on how to install on KZbin.

Hey... I'm back! I'm still having the parasitic draw from the radio, so I just disconnect my battery when I know it's going to be sitting for more than 2 days. But, i don't know if you've looked lately, they are now making the 13.6 inch radios, which take the place of the temperature unit at the bottom. I think I'm gonna order that one, and replace my current tablet radio!

You might have something else staying on, search for parasitic draw test and grab your multimeter. My rear camera module decided it no longer liked the heated seat circuit on passenger front seat. Thansk for the info on the 13.6!!!!

I've been holding off from purchasing for the exact same reason you stated in the video. I wasn't willing to give up the rear entertainment system because our kid's love it. So I just purchased the exact 1 you have using the link you provided (waiting on delivery). My questions to you are: 1) Is there anything in particular I need to be aware of when installing to ensure the rear entertainment system works properly?? 2) Did you retain retain the CD/DVD changer & if so where & how is it still operable?? & If not are the kids able to still watch their videos while you use the interface for a separate purposes ? I believe you will need a GMVRD (1 or 2) depending year to retain factory RSE. Changer is onboard the factory NAV in my truck once it was removed its gone. This radio is made to be discless. I use a 500gb cheap 2.0 thumbstick for all my movie/music. I have the USB optical drive but its so pointless I unhooked it.

Thanks!!! This is a cheap analyzer I got from eBay, I was tempted to do an LCD there for dedicated rear cam but couldn't find anything that fit. Originally during test fit phase I had it flushed just like how the clock fit. The sun however made it hard to view, so I recessed it back (cutting the clock mount structure). I used cardboard and wrapped in it in matte black vinyl to form the side/base with the goal of getting it 3D scanned and printed in ABS. It turned out so nice I decided to leave it. I have the 4.3 monitor it fits pretty nice, I only wanted to have a digital clock or maybe going to get one of those HuD display, but the ones that come with a monitor not the projector so it will display the speed and it connects right to ur obd2 under the dash.

Yes, Ive had a few hiccups where I needed to do a few resets over the time. But all my apps (APK) and music and downloaded KZbin music videos are loaded on my (2) 512gb thumb drive...even the audio settings. So a reset isnt really a big deal bcs you basically lose nothing. No actual music,apps are stored on the 32gb internal HDD. If they were, as expected..they wouldn't survive a reset. The newest model changes a few things but not for the better in my case.

At 16 months in this radio is still going strong. I have encountered 2 hard freezes and 3x where the top touch panel had become unresponsive. The hard freeze required fuse under hood to pulled. The touch panel issue fixes itself after a restart from over night or a fuse pull.

Lmfao I had this same issue, the time is located in 2 parts..one is in the quick menu, other is buried under settings/more settings/date and time/ i have automatic date/time zone and 24 hr format disabled. But did select the proper Central Daylight Time for my area. Hope this helps

There’s a way to grab a clean, preamp signal from the wires that goes into the rear of the factory head unit. I’d have to take mine out to give the colors. Is the Tesla screen able to dim w/ the stick by the headlight knob or it’s in the control settings on the radio?

My original purchase was with Phoenix some 4 years ago. At the time the delay on shipping and constant reasons why it was late was enough to push me over the edge. I cancelled the order on the 29th day and ordered it directly from Ali. It arrived with zero issues, immediate tracking and constant (good or bad, depending on how you look at it ) communication when it arrived, follow up after you installed,etc. Phoenix may have improved things over the years but be aware...they all come from China and Phoenix rebrands them with a slight OS tweak.

FFWD a month later, the seller on Alibaba told me that they had gotten 7.1s in and confirmed video out though the messenger,with multiple videos so I ordered immediately. As video out was a requirement for me, some people it doesn't matter.

I have video out 1, video out 2 (yellow), audio front left/right out, audio rear left/right. I have the Front/Rear goin to a CXR7 crossover which gives me sub out that's controllable with bass knob.

Link in description, at the time of this video there was no model other than this one that provided video out. Phoenix model incorrectly listed that it did & coupled with the absurd wait and no communication from them is why I recommend people avoid them. This was my 1st purchase on Alibaba & seller I used communication was top notch from day 1. Its possible Phoenix has gotten their act together but I'll pass. Use your American Express if you do decide to go with Phoenix...Amex gets right to the point with complaints.

bruh you're my hero right now. i have a ton of questions etc- but won't spam you.. I have a 2010 escalade... dying for that visualizer where the clock is.. i have two fosgate 12 p2 punches dual box running off the punch amplifier (subs only)... it's installed professionally but does not sound as good as my old ford explorer... clearly issues with the bose. how the F did u get that visualizer where the clock is at? can it read off the bose system / head unit? or do I need that phatty ipad? 1)You are absolutely correct on what the problem is. I had my 2 P3s hooked up same way as yours but eventually the lack of bass,even though I was using a LC2i module (that restores bass as well as being line out convertor) got the best of me. My LC2i was tapped into the subwoofer out of the bose and basically the high Hz cutoff that protects the factory Bose subwoofer is just too greedy. 2) Now the analyzer... keeping answer simple,the bracketry was cut to allow the analyzer to sit recessed back. Originally (never shown to anyone) it was flushed just how the clock was and I found it to be washed out in the sun in daylight. The gap that was created by recessing/cutting bracket was made from ABS plastic. Plastic weld and a simple file/dremel with 20-30 test fits,black spray paint to match black housing. Color of display/housing is selectable on ebay 3) Hook-up, the analyzer has 3.5mm low level input. You will need a line out convertor, Im using a cheapy $20, my LC2i is too expensive for this purpose and large. The line out convertor will tap into full range output*, then u will use a RCA to 3.5mm jack to feed the analyzer. The power is a simple tap to a switched 12 volt with USB lighter adapter. The analyzer remembers what mode it's in at power off/power on. The mode change/menu buttons are not accessible but I hate other modes so this isn't a problem for me. *The best possible tap for you using a stock setup will be a door speaker, they suffer from same issue as subwoofer with high Hz cutoff. So the last 3 bars or so on the left might not see much analyzing. Thanks for asking this, you are the 1st to ask 'how' this was done.

I am a bit confused about something. I got the unit and when I look at the main harness there is only wiring for the front speakers. yet I have a Bose 8 speaker system in my 2007 escalade . how is this supposed to power all 9 speakers with only front speakers on the harness? Now I've seen plenty of people in stall these units online. some people say only the front audio works. Could it be because a harness is missing? I say this because based upon wiring schematics the rear speakers are on a separate harness feed. I have not installed mine yet but this harness looks to be inadequate unless there is like some Bose crossover trick I'm unaware of. please advise

Thanks so much, I pinned a post at top of sub box for those who wanted a peek at it. Yes the player plays MKV/H.264 as well as MKV/VP8 (think VP9 was no-go). Let me know whatever format you wanna try and I'll load a sample file into Handbrake and convert. I didnt try MKV/H.265. Sorry Im Android only, but my sis when she comes over is an Apple head. I will try to talk her into trying her 11 pro max on it for you guys. My Note 8 and Note 10 Plus do work well,but I'm not a fan of it being mirroring to the screen. Left a bit to be desired IIRC Oh and Hulu doesn't work, Netflix downloaded outside of play store does. Its a particular version number that I just side loaded the APK on and installed it.

@@davidnguyen4888 takes bow, I put this radio through the wringer for the crew on Cadillac forum. I wanted everyone to be clear on what they were or weren't getting. It nor the factory nav wasnt perfect but the pros definitely out way the cons. Here are some cons that Ive learned to live with: 1)Only outputs video to rear screwn from stock video player in native form. Netflix, KZbin will not output unless you enable output entire screen. Aspect ratio is screwed and looks like crap. 2) USB dvd player is useless, the radio is built around USB thumb drive(s) or having files loaded onto radio itself. DVD does work though. 3)Radio audio quality is not better than stock 4) built in audio player is trash, I use Power Amp which requires launching on car start. But it remembers where u left off. 5) screen can get washed out when sun is setting and behind vehicle at a certain angle (Tinted front window trucks are immune to it)

1) Yes, however there is only front/rear RCA output. Im using a CXR7 3 way crossover which gives a separated sub output controllable by a bass knob and has a built-in line driver. 2)kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2abiqGefq-Ml9U remember only certain models have video out, message seller in the link and specifically tell them that. 3) yes, i have USB DVD player. It leaves Alot to be desired and and very cumbersome to use. I ended up using Handbrake program on my PC to dump movies to my 256gb thumbdrive. The radio really is built around be disc-less. There are 2 USB ports and any combination of DVD/thumbdrive or thumbdrive/thumbdrive works. These were great questions!!!!

Nice set up. You mentioned that you have subs n a aftermarket amp in the back, and that you ran a L.O.C down the driver side of the console and connected it to your factory sub. Did you have any problem with the automatic noise cancelation system? I ran a L.O.C up under the cup holder and tied into the 4 speaker wires but as soon as i close my door I get a hum out of my aftermarket sub in the back that goes up and down with the idle of the engine. If I open the door the hum will go away. I appreciate it if you could tell me how you connected your L.O.C. thank you.

When I had the loc (LC2i) in my system, with factory headunit and with Android radio in video I experienced zero interference. I also tapped into those 4 wires under cupholder to feed the LOC a signal. It functioned perfectly fine and the only reason it was removed was because A) I went full aftermarket for highs, which eliminated the stock amp that was high level for the factor sub that we tapped into and B)The Bose system rolls off at around 47hz I believe, so if your using those wires as a source the bass never really smacked down low on certain tracks (play Master P Golds In The Mouth or Nicole Wray Make It Hot). Care to list which LOC you bought, FYI didn't use any of them weird auto turn on features from AudioControl. In both stock and Android I had a true 12v switched wire turning the LOC and amp on.

@@2muchspl thanks for the quick response. The L.O.C I used is is a Audiopipe APNR-RM It also has a 12v constant and a remote wire. My system will hit hard just when I turn down the volume or mute the music it will have that loud hum that goes up n down with the idle of the engine. Yet if I open any door it will go away. I wired it before the wires go into the amp to the solid green (+) n light blue with black stripe (-) n blue with white stripe (+)n light green with black stripe (-) if i turn the outputs up torwards back to highs (almost all the way) it will go away a lil but i can only turn the bass remote 3 notches n the hum will start again.

@@fernandoramos7679 Its possible the LOC you're using is bad or has a ground loop buzz. The wires under the cupholder in this thread is what I used ( bit.ly/3eV0t1L ). These wires are coming from the factory amp to the factory sub in high level. Think you tapped the correct wires???

I think I need to go your route n tap da wires from amp to sub. By the way i have the premium bose amp system. I guess there is two different types Bose uses in Cadillacs that i know of. I have 2010 cts also all factory audio system n it sounds way better than my factory system in my Escalade. Was your factory Bose system the premium amp or the more powerful amp (Luxury i think Bose calls it)?

What’s up bro I got a few questions for you about the radio. First question is do these radios fit well in the Escalade because I been hearing that there is a problem about how they fit. Second is there any USB ports on the unit. Third can you mirror link your phone to the unit. And the unit does have video out right. These are all great Qs and I have no prob with em, keep em coming! There is a slight fitment issue, on the right-hand side the area near the traction control buttons doesn't sit flat as it could. Im a pessimistic when it comes to low quality and thought it would bother me but it really is unnoticeable due to the high gloss on the new radio bezel. There are 2 USB ports on the unit, they are on the harness and have about 3' of cabling to them. I have both of mine running behind the radio,under the cup holder and drilled a small hole in the very bottom of the armrest (not the top section). I have a cheap $20 256gb 2.0 USB stick on one and and USB DVD drive that I dont use on the other. It can dual thumbsticks, it did fail at using a traditional 2.5 HDD. I think an SSD would of worked but I wasn't willing to test that. Yes, mirror works. I only have Note 8 and a Note 10 Plus but have confirmed both work. I never use it to be honest. It initially worked on my N8 but once I switched to N10+ it stopped. The app for the play store that enables mirroring had an update about 2 weeks later and it was fixed. My unit does in fact have video out, when buying specifically state you need video out. I linked seller in another comment of who I purchased from. At the time 7.1 Android (& I assume higher) was the only version that could do it. If it says 6.0 or anything of the sort I wouldn't buy it. I highly highly suggest you buy it from seller I used and not Phoenix. BTW: I believe you will need a $20 GMRVD harness if using the factory rear screen, if aftermarket screen is installed you dont need it. This harness turns the factory plug into a simple RCA for inputs.

@@07charger123 If keeping door speakers stock, leave the factory Bose amp in place. Granted this is provided you are satisfied with how they sound. However, if you plan to add a subwoofer how I was originally setup. The factory bose amp will in essence be providing the sub high level signal to a line level convertor then feeding the your extra subwoofer amp,etc. I had a LC2i line level convertor which was fantastic, but unfortunately the Bose amp just bottlenecks too much bass that even the LC2i couldn't restore that grunt down low. I believe 35hz is the lowest it goes (dont quote me). Now that my full system is bypassing the Bose the bass bottleneck is gone. The new highs arent even in the same league as the factory equipment. Like seriously I have bass from my doors and its felt in my pants leg.

I just purchased a tesla unit after watching your video. Unit came in today only problem I have is my rear speakers are not playing. Using factory base system. Also my original TV monitors only one is coming on and it only seems to mirror screen and not display full screen

@@2muchspl I rebooted the system and they are on now. but if you go into the fader into the eq settings you select front speakers mute it mutes the rear door speakers and the once at the rear pillars. also is there away to get my tv monitor for the 3rd row seat to come on? Finding out it depends on what app you are viewing your movies on if they will be displayed in full screen.

@@joshuahall3276 The way Escalades work, the fading and volume amping (up & down) is all done via the amp not the radio with a datawire and incorporates only 2 channel input. Any radio that is added, loses fade ability in these trucks if Bose amplifier is left in the loop because the OEM radio is needed to control the fader. The only way around it is to A) wire each door speaker to new radio* or B)use the 4 rca outs and wire and external 4 channel amp. *Not easily possible with our android radio, since manufacturer knew the Escalade could only use 2 inputs & wanted to keep things plug and play. So there is only 4 wires for high level speaker output coming out of the harness vs 8 that you would expect. I chose B route because I wanted full aftermarket amplification and gained fader back (tho I never use it).

Easiest way is thru the settings and in wifi. 1st go online and save a 768x1024 picture of an EXT to your 10.4., I like to put stuff in download folder. Then go to boot logo under settings and select that image from Download folder. imgur.com/a/rQGnSDE

@@lynwardflorence2971 oh the desktop icon truck, I've seen the file location when running a different launcher (car launcher) and Im sure they can be modded out. Im back on stock as you can see in the video. Phoenix put a link on their FB I found from a lil sleuthing I'll link at bottom but try at your own risk (it'll either work or wont). If I have time I will reinstall Car Launcher this weekend to see how did I see those images of all the cars. No that will not be needed,but a module is needed to retain use of factory rear entertainment. I believe the p# is gmrv2 . If aftermarket entertainment is installed in the rear like my 22" monitor,this module is not needed since the monitor can plug directly into the radio.

Certain Android levels cant do this. This seller created a cart with the options I needed after discussing I needed video out versus me just blindly paying. Also I noticed they list it now as controlling AC, mine cant do that feature so its very important to ask can all versions do that versus being locked into that feature as a must buy and losing video out as an example.

I just installed my tesla screen yesterday in my 07 esv. It came out of the box with an Audi Profile loaded up, not escalade. I tried to follow your video to change profile but my menus look different than yours and I cant find where you go on mine. There is a small overlap on the passenger side. U can shift the radio to where its on driver side or passenger side. I chose passenger side so that its hidden from passengers. You honestly have to LOOK for it to see it.

I cant properly test this but you will need i believe a GMRVD (2007-11) or GMRVD2 (2012+) harness. This harness does a few things: 1) allows OEM Nav to send vid to aftermarket flipdown 2)allows aftermarket radio to send video to to OEM flipdown. I originally had this harness installed before I went Android with Option 1. It plugs in on a grey (IIRC) plug that was plugged into OEM Nav and turns it into a RCA. The RCA then connects to video out of Android.

@@FrankieBlaQ Its honestly not,ebay & Amazon. On the back of the OEM radio its 4 separate harnesses that go into it that give it power,sounds,rear cam,etc. 1 of those 4 harnesses is video out/in. This GMVRD harness plugs into that and gives you a traditional yellow/red/white jack. The GMVRD harness only fits 1 of the 4 OEM harnesses behind the radio that you will unhook to do a radio swap. The Android radio will be plugged into 2 of the 3 remaining harnesses (power and rear cam). The Android radio harness plugs directly into the Cadillac harness unlike if you were to swap in a Alpine,JVC, Kenwood,etc. Google that harness and watch this kzbin.info/www/bejne/q37NqJuFmtR3arc to visualize what I typed.

Thats a dope swap!! But if you skip to the 3:57-4:00 mark you will see Silverado 3rd from the bottom of the list. I cant vouch for it functioning, I vaguely remember trying during my attempts to see could the volume slider to move due to my impending deletion of factory Bose amp.

Sorry for delay, mine is wired to a cheapy cigar lighter adapter USB phone charger I got from ebay. Seriously it was 99¢. Its wired to a switch source and hidden inside the dash. I haven't touched it 1x since Ive installed it. It comes on with the truck,off with key off.
