The orange coating comes from an iron eating bacteria that occurs naturally in the soil. In addition to coating everything at the culvert's outfall with that orange gunk, it will also create a rainbow sheen on stagnant/standing water that some folks mistake for an oil or petroleum product release. But the sheen caused by the bacteria will "crack" like thin ice if you poke it with a stick. It will also produce an order like old rubber inner tubes or chemicals.

you didn't mention the red surveyors tape on the curved ladder at 2:15. Do you ever try to find the history of where you explore? Why are you secretive about your expoloration locations ?

This is similar to water control "Ponds" in Ontario Canada. There's one you can see off the street in the north west of the GTA. With water gates 30 feet tall !! That was build 50 years ago and the water has NEVER been even up the BOTTOM of the gates. There are smaller culverts that keep the water moving in normal conditions. It is literary made for floods that occur perhaps 100 years apart!! In the case of the one in Toronto it is based on Historic Floods that occurred during Hurricane Hazel in the 1950's It seems like a LOT of infrastructure to build for a flood that won't occur for 100 years?? BUT?? It will payback in Spades when it does come .. saving thousands of lives and Billions of dollars in infrastructure damage. The thing is these babies are pretty easy to build and existing in dry air 99% of their time thay last FOREVER, AND cheap as hell to maintain. Once a year maintenance can be as cheap as what you JUST SAW in the video .. a walk though check!! My Grandfather was a infrastructure supervisor in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) for decades and when I was a kid he used to bring me to see stuff like this when it was being built, and tell me interesting stories abut his work.

They wasn't small rocks either. But did you notice that massive hole in the wall that was filled in what they filmed. It looks like a huge water drainage system and that's where they washed in. It could be the reason it's no longer used it could have failed or a land slide broken it's protection. 👍
