Fun fact: with AK pattern rifles, you cannot chamber a round unless you first take the safety off. Bolt carrier won't travel far enough. At least with older rifles. Not sure if the newer generation fixed that

0:58 Hate to be that guy but his rifle would still remain empty after that because you'd need to 'unsafe' a Kalashnikov to properly charge it. You can just about do a brass check with the fire selector up/safety engaged, that's it.
