Imagine actually unironically paying $250 for a game in the first place. I can't imagine paying $250 for a video game. It's not that I can't, it's just that I would never do that, because the provided value isn't there. Like, I have no problem paying $250 for a big-ass 27" 240 Hz monitor, the provided value is all there: It takes a lot of money to engineer and produce the hardware. Software, video games in particular is much easier to engineer and produce(it's free to produce, compilation is free), so asking $250 per person is just inadequate. It takes time to write programs, sure, but it's not nearly as much as designing and producing hardware. I am a software engineer.

Promising free DLCs for players who purchased the expensive version, only to turn around and charge for new features is straight up fraud. I am also surprised that how Larian Studios were able to deliver a well polished, more complex and higher quality game without any higher price tag. It was a one time purchase and that's it you will get everything. To be honest Escape from Tarkov lacks content too, the fact that I was able to complete every task and upgrade my hideout and everything within 3-4 days for a game which I payed over$100 is sad and it was rinse and repeat every wipe. Also I think devs broke this game even further every wipe. Most unoptimised trash ever

I got Escape from Tarkov one christmas for £50, which is already a lot of money for me, and didn't play it for about 2-3 years because my PC was terrible and couldn't run it. I then tried to play it and I was banned despite not playing it at all (apart from getting into the main menu). Ever since I have had a vendetta against it and pray on it's downfall. This brings me immense joy.

I stopped playing years ago when I had a fully heavy armored kit (head to toe), dropped in with a gifted P90 among all kinds of other stuff ready to rock someone's shit. The map was super rainy, almost zero visibility. I'm creepin along through a field to get to one of the houses and from an elevated position about 50 feet up, and about 30 yards to my 2 o'clock, someone one-shots me in the neck (the ONLY place I was weak to). It's not like my neck was even exposed because of the armor and helmet either. Between the kit I brought, the rain, and dying to someone I SWEAR was hacking, I was so livid I uninstalled that trash and never looked back. If it was on disc I would have frisbeed that shit out of the window like the UFA.

Im not even sure if the division was the first extraction shooter. I recall a game from a long time ago called PlanetSide 2 where it supports over 1000 players, 3 massive teams, and they would battle out for like hours trying to control the whole planet. If im not mistaken that WAS an extraction shooter, if not, the first extraction shooter. To this day its still one of the few free to play (micro transaction ofc) that is still successful. Theyre constantly releasing updats btw. And btw, i really recommend it. Fans of apex legends might find it fun cause it's a bit similar. For those wondering what it is, its a MMOFPS.

I honestly believe they create and operate the cheats to sell. Selling cheats is big $. Banning people who then buy new accounts is big $. Letting streamers with 500k subscribers get away with cheating like LVNDMARK is valuable to the ecosystem. TLDR: They want to take as much money with them before they leave. Grayzone and Breakout ruined their plan though. BSG already knows that Grayzone and Breakout are going to release soon. Knowing that they wont hold total control over hardcore looters shooters anymore, They decided to go with this as a last ditch effort to rake in as much money as possible. My thought is they are going to abandon it for another game once the game hits 1.0. What they don't know is they basically ruined the trust of 99% of their customers, including their most hardcore customers. It makes sense when you think about it. They want people to buy this "final" product so badly that they are willing to put blatant P2W shit in it. Also, They have been threatening us not to play SPT AKI at the risk of being banned and some people ACTUALLY got banned. Now all of a sudden they are chill with it and stopped caring Like how GTA5 stopped caring about hackers cuz 6 is on its way. They burned the bridge BEFORE they crossed it because they want to take as much cash with them as possible...

Well Tarkov started out as the first "big" project of Russia 2028. Back in 2017 or 18 if my memory serves me right, Nikita mentioned that tarkov itself is NOT Russia 2028, but more like a fundraiser for it. Then this entire thing changed later on, and they said that Tarkov was gonna branch out to become Russia 2028. I wouldn't be surprised if they just did a rugpull, like how they abandoned contract wars for hired ops, then hired ops for Tarkov. But then again, as an aplha supporter, even if BSG burns the fucking project, pisses on us, fucks us sideways, Im still gonna refer to OG EFT as the best shooter game ever made.

I bought the EoD edition because I have friends that were really into the game and I had the money at the time. The whole "all future dlc" thing was a major selling point for getting that version, because if my friends stuck with it then it would be a good investment down the line. I ended up not playing the game much because I got really sick, and my friends stopped playing anyway.. but hearing about this still pisses me off. I think I might go download SPT just out of spite, friends and sickness be damned. If I get banned, I wasn't playing before this anyway lol

For those who dont know the EOD edition which was LIMITED EDITION went for 140$ n as Muta said it said "all access to future DLCs [Season pass]" and removed that edition because it was limited edition and if you have that edition and you need to upgrade to the The unheard edition you need to pay 100$ More on top of that so i feel like the people who got scammed the most was who ever bought the EOD edition if you wanna play EFT just buy the cheapest edition n download SPT trust me its much more fun than you think and the Arena game mode whoever had the EOD edition wasnt even granted early access to it whoever bought the game desptie the edition had the earliest access there was this huge que for it so if you bought the best edition years ago you would still wait a few weeks to get granted access to the Arena DLC desptie your version so if a guy just buys the cheapest version after you did he would most likely have the DLC before you did

The whole arena thing was a disaster, they released it in Waves on launch (totally understandable, don't overload the servers with the entire playerbase at the start, play test with a smaller to start) and EOD was promised first access. While most EOD players were still waiting for access, if you just bought arena standalone, you got instant access. This is a fact, i bought it for my brother while i was still waiting to get in with my eod amount, and he got in INSTANTLY.

They lowered the price now another 50% and promised coop to be free for every EOD owner when the game is 1.0. It's still around 58 euro with taxes for the upgrade to new game version. I hate nikita but i will spend 60 euro for the extra p2w garbage since it's only 60 instead of 330

Most real projects have a plan and don't need community feedback. No investor wants to pay for a nameless studio to make a game in a niche genre. No one. That's why AAA's don't do it either. So what sucks about gaming today is: It's expensive and no one with the funds to make games can take risks. That's why you're seeing the same type of games over and over, and it's "the little guys" that break out with something new and fresh.

I'm concerned Tarkov is approaching the "death spiral of funding" - projects like Arena allegedly don't pay off and turns off some fans, then they feel the need to increase their revenue streams, so they add microtransactions, which does provide some short-term funding, but turns off some fans, then the Unheard Edition is essentially a rinse and repeat. I haven't played in a while, and I imagine the game is still quite a bit of fun and something I'd like to hop back into. But I currently don't see myself putting any more money into it.

The game itself is in a phenomenal state right now, i stopped playing years ago and came back for this wipe and the changes they had been putting out have been shit the community has been asking for, for ages. The recoil rework for example, it essentially made EVERY gun viable, you dont need to build the most meta gun with the most meta attachments to end up with something thats viable in combat. You can build a gun because it looks cool, throw some good ammo in it, and be at only a minor disadvantage to the guy that built the meta gun. The vaulting system, overall, fantastic qol addition, it's still a bit broken at times, simply not working, or up until recently, being able to vault through walls and shit, but 9 times out of 10, it's great. But then bsg goes and pulls this bullshit. I absolutely love the game, but cannot support the devs with this.

Welcome to unregulated capitalism where companies are liable to investor and have to garantee infinite growth by doing the minimum effort possible while making you pay up always more for it all the while increasing executives salaries and bonuses while all of their employee struggle to live off their wages. Agree with that point: while the Star Citizen funding model is distasteful, they would never dare pull something so brazen as to firewall the game behind a pay-to-win. And at least with the Star Engine and server meshing about to enter a first iteration for the new system going live, we’re seeing actual industry level innovation for all that money pledged by backers, as opposed to just another generic extraction shooter looking to milk its player base rather than fix the cheating issue and grow the game out to encourage ongoing purchases.
