ESCAPE, Nordhavn 41 - still on the hard in Finike due to lockdown

You have a lovely boat. Please say hi to Barbaros at Finike marina. I think he's still there. Our boat, Tesla, was berthed there in 2013 and 14. We loved spending weekends at Kekova.

Curious about the custom canvas you made for this. Pros and cons of canvas versus wrapping with plastic? What is the purpose of the gap between the canvas and the boat, letting air circulate? Looks great I have just never seen a Nordhavn wrapped like this?

Hi Mike, thanks for your comment. We went for a sunbrella material cover made by Valmex as it is supposed to last at least 6 years. This custom cover has a zip half way so that the stern cover can be used sepperately in winter while onboard - you can also see a doorway zip at the stern for entry. It is specifically designed to allow airflow through. Our plan is to cruise part time for the next six years before spending more permanent time aboard so we wanted a removable cover - also I did enquire but plastic wrapping is not available in Finike or surround areas where we plan to store ESCAPE for the first few years before moving westwards towards Greece and then Italy thereafter. We found the workmanship to manufacture the cover in Finike to be somewhat slow but the end product in our opinion is brilliant - and the people we dealt with are great.

@@franswilliams163 Thanks Frans, great to hear from another za - the factory and the people are great and definitely worth a visit. Challenge is when you see a N41 live, you will want one as it is an incredible vessel.
