Most Defiantly use the white card stock, the instructions should be on the website if I'm not mistaken each section was broken down into several downloads, this was my favorite project so far.

Amazing!! Wish you built them and sold them already made. I am looking for a haunted mansion like yours for my Disney Diorama (building a miniature disney ) for my house village. I am a huge disney fan and would live one but simply dont have the time to put something like this together
@Halloweenville8 жыл бұрын
There are a couple Paprcraft Haunted Mansions out there, I wish I could make and sell them too but Disney would probably not appreciate that...plus with all the dungeon stuff I make I don't have much time for papercrafting anymore!
@JoseMunoz-hl3bh8 жыл бұрын
I understand about not having time. lol. I'm right there with ya I would definitely buy one though.
@justimagine24036 жыл бұрын
It takes a whole Saturday... like 6 am to well past midnight to get one together. (few breaks in between). But if I bought one, I would be sorely disappointed with my own as I cut corners and got sloppy as I got tired. Then things didn't line up and got to looking wonky. Still, that I made it myself makes me love it that much more. Super cool idea first published 10 years ago? (how slow am I) :)

Nice build and review! Most people cut the base short like you did. They usually use foam board. I put a thick base on it mainly for presentation. Designing this was fun. I need to re-build a copy so that I can play it with my nephews. Don't forget that the gameplay instructions and fortune cards are also available in French and Portuguese. In 2014, I added a tuck box to the parts listing for storing the cards. There is also a separate dice tower (www.disneyexperience.com/activities/crafts/hm_dicetower.php) that comes with mini versions of the dice. You can also use the dice tower with standard dice as for other board games.

OMG! Thank you! I will have to download the tuck box and dice tower, we are still playing this one, after all the years it only just now showing signs of wear, so I will have to rebuild this again at some point...

Love this! Clever as heck and now everyone I know is asking where did I get it. The foam core base is a must. I have the expensive game of Life Haunted Mansion and it isn't anywhere near as fun. I also added a "snapfun" 16 sound mp3 chip to the board so it will play background music and sound effects. Haunted Mansion is so cool! Thanks!
@Halloweenville6 жыл бұрын
That's Awesome With the sound chip, i really want to learn how to add stuff like that.

Hey, I'm currently working on this project. Should I cut out the pieces and assemble as I go, or cut everything out and then start building it up? Any other tips with cutting/constructing would be appreciated.

cut and build as you go, don't get frustrated when things don't line up perfect, I've found with most papercraft you have to trim pieces to fit better. and good luck and let me know how it turns out.

@@Halloweenville What type of card stock did you use? I see the term (material) used quite a lot with many projects, but I also know there are many different types.
@Halloweenville5 жыл бұрын
@@mazinz2 honestly it's been a while, but it was standard cardstock i don''t remember the exact thickness I think the instruction might recommend a specific cardstock type.

hello, I didn't see in the instructions but would you recommend white cardstock for this project? I was wanting to do this as well but don't want to print it out until I have what I need. I have so many colors of cardstock. Thanks for the information and can't wait to work on this project.

Hiya, great build and presentation! Thanks for that. Question - I'm not far into it, and I have found that Panel B2 has the wrong tabs, as in they don't align with what's above (B3). BUT everything's been right so far, and no one anywhere has mentioned this error (according to google) - so maybe I'm wrong? Any thoughts? Thanks again.
@Halloweenville6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I don't Remember running Running into that problem but I'ts Also been over 5 years for me and it's still standing today! I may have cut off excess Tabs, but without doing it again I wouldn't know. Sorry!
@johnbaumgartner6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply! All goes well, I improvised around those weird tabs. I'm half built now and impressed with how sturdy it is once the structure starts to come together. Glad to hear yours is still standing. Thanks for the inspiration.

I should have listened to this better the first time. It makes a HUGE difference to NOT build the base as it does not support the model. Start by cutting a foam core or cardboard base and then work up from there. My base took me 3 hours and it was floppy and didn't line up (and I was careful). I gave up and reprinted and put it on foam core board, and it was MUCH better!
@Halloweenville6 жыл бұрын
