When Hugh first did the two series on TV one in an old Land Rover and another in an old Canal Barge I thought that they were brilliant with him even catching carp close to a power station ,and then using the old truck drivers trick of using the heat from the engine of the Land Rover to cook it , i would love to see another series done in the old format as River Cottage HQ seems to have lost some of the shows original sparkle

Loved this show, got the box set, have visited all the areas, dreamed of doing such things, then, we all find out it was a big farce and that it was all about building a brand, oh the lies we where told

My friend took the leap and gave it a go and to be fair is doing pretty good. But, his wife has an extremely well paid job and he has a very healthy pension pot. I think a lot of people that take this leap and choose this lifestyle, are far from broke and do regular top up shops from M&S LOL.

I still eat pigeon,deer,rabbit,duck,pheasant etc...i am lucky to be able to hunt and fill my freezer for virtually nothing other than some choice cuts and a nice bottle or two for the landowner. I could not imagine living any other way.

so planting a variety of the same thing protects you from bug/bacterial blooms - not volume (one for you, one for the slug).

so the guy who taught him how to fish went out and came back with the fish but despite the whole film crew did not capture it???? Also the Lord of the manor came out with a gun and could not even hit the closest bird, typically lords of the manor these days are a waste of space and sit back on their heritage and not what they can actually bring to the table.
