I don't care what anyone says but losing an animal is the same as losing a child. From birth to death, animals need us. My 18 year old boy died in October. It still kills us to see his photograph, and we still have our younger ones. But there's a huge empty space without Murphy. The woman's reaction says it all 🥹🐾

I also had a Murphy in my life. He was one of the best horses you could ever hope to have. He lived to be 28. It's been 5 years and I still miss him. As you know, you don't feed and care for someone for decades and just get over it immediately. R.I.P. to both of our Murphys. Have a blessed day.

I think mour 97 YO family member misses her dog a lot more than the people who are gone. Her Chihuahua was a constant companion for many many years, so it’s only natural.

Losing belongings is gut-wrenching, and losing the majority of what you own is devastating, but losing dogs or family is trauma beyond anything people should have to handle. Those dogs are probably the only solace that woman has in such a difficult time, and thank God, or whatever you believe, for that comfort. If I lost everything I owned, I would be crushed, but nothing would be able to console me if I lost my husband or dog.
