I find it hard to believe that no FLDS member in recent history was able to figure out how to get around the ipad “restrictions”. If a kid is bored enough they can figure all kinds of things out on their own.. of course if they have enough sense to figure it out then they likely have enough sense to keep it a secret so we’ll likely never know 🤷🏻‍♀️

well, they’re born into a community with not knowledge or understanding for technology- they only know what they are told. plus ‘parent’ restrictions exist that the user can’t get around. They can set limits on your device and can only be changed and accessed by the person who set them.

The FLDS towns likely don't have wifi or cell phone data connections, so if even if a kid could figure out how to remove the restriction, they might not find any network to connect the ipad to.

You can’t get the restrictions off without a password my mum did it to my iPod when I was a child

I tried everything to get it off and I couldn’t set up a new iCloud account without the restrictions password and that was the only way around it, I had no wifi and couldn’t download any apps or message anyone, she was a control freak so guess what I left home at 15

I don’t why the United States Government,keep letting this happen ,why don’t they stop them,take all of the kids away and put these adults in jail,make this illegal?

They tried taking all the kids away at one of their communities in Texas. The one were Warren Jeffs was abusing all those girls and boys. But unfortunately they went off a tip that turned out to be false. Which was awful because there are children being abused by this cult every single day. They didn’t have the supplies or the staff to manage the hundreds of children they took all at once and it was chaos. If you want to know more about it, look up Rachel Jeffs book or her interviews. She goes into detail about how it was almost more traumatizing to the children to be taken all at once like that. Even if it was for a good reason. But I agree they need more oversight because it’s so easy for them to get away with all the abuse that’s still happening.

No but they have similar beliefs and behaviors. Most polygamist cults have very similar rules and ideals. Some just hide it better by assimilating into everyday society. Modernizing socially while keeping their home and religious lives a secret.
