I cut my teeth in the backcountry solo backpacking. Being alone for days and even weeks without another human voice to break your train of thought is a unique experience, an opportunity to get closer to where we came from. For me it has been a chance to recenter myself, to heal from the constant noise and dehumanization of modern society. Nicely presented!

Excellent video. First time I went solo, all I could imagine is what could go wrong. Now after many solo trips I find I enjoy the solitude and quiet. I have adopted the slogan "better go solo than no go".
@Venture2Roam
@Venture2Roam 2 жыл бұрын
Love that slogan. I definitely a bit of anxiety about being alone - but I quickly remembered that I've been out a million times and have everything I need should something happen...then I just let go and had an incredibly peaceful experience. The quiet is hard to come by in my life...and I really enjoyed it. Cheers to those who go!

Perfect video! Nothing said, everything visual. It was like I was right there with you. I try so hard to just sit down and relax at camp with a coffee in the morning, or an adult bev in the evening. However, my tinkering mind gets the best of me and little projects take over. It is actually very refreshing to watch this type of video again. Many of the content creators I have subscribed to over the years have drifted away from their original passion for the outdoors, in favor of endorsing product placement. I get it, they need to put money in the bank, and endorsements pay the way. However, many folks with enough creativity get by just fine without going that route. Nothing worst than subscribing to a channel for original content, just to watch a full 10 minute commercial. Please keep on, keeping on with these down to earth realistic outings and projects. Looking forward to meeting up some day for an outing.

Wow such a great video. I admire the perspective that you shared in this video. I'm not sure if I could enjoy it, the views are gorgeous, the sounds of the air and wildlife are peaceful. But without having someone to share it with I'd feel lonely, maybe even lost. And to be completely honest if I didn't take my wife along, it would be mountain house meals for sure. Because I am terrible at cooking a full meal. Thank you for sharing will, it's a great video. I love the spot you picked, overlooking the city and having the mountains is a pretty epic background

Damnit. I knew I should have bought a 4x4 truck or jeep!! Ugh! My 2WD F150 isn't going to take me to beautiful places like that unless it's maintained paved road. Thank you for sharing. I also recently switched to that portable firepit. I hate those dispersed sites with fifteen fire rings within two feet of each other. And they usually have buried bullets, batteries, and poop paper. With the big fires burning outside of Boise and Ketchum I've been rethinking fire protection. So I bought a 4 X 4 foot fire pit mat for under the portable fire. I'll field test it this weekend but I'll feel better with another layer of protection.

Another great video Will. I go off-road & overland solo about 80% of the time. Have been doing that for decades so although the ‘never go alone’ rule is a good one it is a risk I am willing to take. I just take fewer chances, risky lines & turn around more lol. It doesn’t mean I prefer solo, just that works out most often.

I kind of get the solo thing now. This trip was very close to home…I erred pretty hard on the safe side just to be safe…but I totally get the appeal now.
