I've been trading for almost 6 years now. I made $400k so far in total profits. However the last 2 years I've only made $30k. Don't know what the future holds, but all I know is I will be in front of the computer, do proper research, set my key risk levels, obey my stops, and analyze my trades until I die. This is the only hope of staying in the game.

Here is the key to being a successful trader~when you make a trade that you believe in and it immediately goes green, DO NOT profit take when it starts to retrace, even if it goes into the red (90 percent of the time this happens just to weed out the week stops then the trade explodes back in your favor) if you can learn to follow this rule you WILL be a successful trader!

Taking partials will only benefit you. It can return to negatives and take you out, you have no certainty that the trade will go back to profit. Better to be safe than sorry

This is exactly what I need to hear. It is hard when I only have a £500 account and the hard thing is just making £10 profit is a meaningless amount, so I constantly make it but don't take it and therefore lose it again, over and over and it is getting frustrating. Watching these guys inspires me to take the £10 and be happy + repeat.
@ceola90922 жыл бұрын
$10 is great for a $500 account. Try focusing on compounding effects as opposed to immediate dollar amounts. That $10 profit brings your account to $510 which will be your new baseline in determining profits which means that in the future that exact trade will become exponentially more profitable. Also, some people make $10 in one hour so making that in a few minutes trading is great, don't let what you see on KZbin make you view this as a "get rich overnight" sort of thing, most people on here who have made a lot of money either started with a lot of money so it was quicker to compound or they traded thousands of times to grow their small account
@davidkneil10452 жыл бұрын
@@ceola9092 Thanks Ceola. I will focus on the performance rather than the money. Hopefully with patience the money will come, I still need more discipline and sometimes have too many trades open because I use market orders whilst at work and sometimes too many trigger, which is good if they win but damaging if they all lose.

If I can make 10 by thinking a little and pushing a button a couple of times that is good. Paper trading is a little boring but learning the process is worth a whole lot. Pushing the wrong button you can loose money even though you knew what to do. Trading with high volume helps too. When the trend peaks and begins to drop and you have made money or not I bale out. But there are many factors to consider before getting in. Patience is big and getting in early is big to. Things come to those who wait but who don’t wait to late.

This is just what needed to hear today. Revenge traded and lost 20% of my account earlier. I didn't realize I was trying to guess the top, until it broke down and the retraced allowing me to enter on the pullback. I already thought I was in the pullback. Managed to take a step back, come back to it and finished the day on a 6% profit. All in a single morning.

The thing is with these videos is they are usually referring to big hedge funds and big capital . The truth is for somebody to go through the whole rigmarole with a 1k pot to make just 20% in a year will leave you as drained as heck . My advice would be to be super aggressive with 1k pot and say build to 5k and then reassess . If you fail find another grand and so on . Risking 1-2% is all these massive traders who turns over plenty NOT a fella who lives in a flat with £1,000 in his account . Be aggressive ❤

What I would say to you is do demo trade for now so your not losing money. Basically don't give up since you've come this far bro
