ESCAPING THE HOUSING CRISIS!! Forced into vanlife early

You do end up with a lot of stuff over the years and even keeping sentimental stuff. You think that it is only less than $200 a month. But times that by years and the stuff becomes a balance of cost. I think it is a very big move and I'm excited for you but when a hobby becomes a life there is a different spin. Like times where you have been in places where you have had to get up at 5 am because it isn't a proper place to stay. I'm wondering if you will end up having a pitch to pay for and the pitch you park at in an area becomes home turf. Either way, I wish you great times ahead, but I do wonder about the hobby vs full time and emotionally what will this be like. On a massive plus side, the disposable income should go up, or savings. No rent, gas, electricity, water. Especially the rent. The savings are massive. So there are positives too. I really hope this works out for you and wish you every success and a very happy van - life x

Moving stinks. But you guys really did a good job of starting early and being organized. Way fewer mistakes and regrets that way. Good thing you already had all that vanning experience, and you chose to go to full time van life. Glad you have each other, and that you share the same vision! Facebook market place is brutal. we gave an ensemble bed away for FREE and they came and took half the bed and never came back for the second half. Left us with a useless half a bed can you believe it!! this is going to be a good journey to watch. lots to go through in houses even if you feel don't have a lot of 'stuff'.

My cousin is also a minimalist she can live out of a back pack but sold all and lives in her RV she calls Roxi. i get this we sold our 4 bedroom house sold a lot and gave the rest away. Downsizing is crazy hard and a lot of work but even after 2 years we have no regrets

We usually have a garage sale before we go on a long trip. I finally got Cathy to sell things for a dollar or 2. If we have it for sale we don't need it, so sell it cheap and whatever's left donate it. We usually end up with a couple hundred dollars. Well when you live in your van your front and back yard is all of Australia 🙂. Good tips have fun guys

That looked like a busy and stressful time but you are almost there. The housing crisis seems to be everywhere and it's bad here too with landlords selling up and most rents have almost doubled in the past few years. You should enjoy your vanlife, once you finally get used to having no home to return to.
