Hey dude! Cool to see you in Nevada. I'm a local that does a ton of ghost town exploring. I believe that jail was actually the superintendent's office, the big metal thing is a stamp mill used to crush the ore - they were usually shipped in from San Francisco, there's a ton of them strewn throughout Nevada and all the old mine sites. It was a really cheap way to crush ore. Edit: I'm sure you've already read up on it, but Tunnel Camp was located near a town called Mazuma. There was a flash flood down the mountain (about where you camped) that killed a bunch of people in town and essentially made it a ghost town in 1912, Tunnel Camp still operated until the 20's as you mentioned.

The equipment at the mine is a stamp mill for crushing ore.
@scottymac5174Ай бұрын
The stamp mills were used to grind up the hard rock/quartz to break it down to get the gold out. Back in those days they would use Mercury to bind with the gold to separate it from the crushed ore. The silica dust created from this process was a killer. Before any type of dust/breathing filters. Probably why the graveyard is so close by.

@@scottymac5174 Thanks for identifying the machine. I know that all you said about the ore and processing it is correct, so thx for that too!

You create such beautiful video clips, and it’s clear that you must have some sort of training in video production. Or maybe you’re just a natural talent. The mix of fantastic editing, fitting music, and stunning views is amazing. I understand why your KZbin channel has the name it does. Are you familiar with the pilot and KZbin creator Trent Palmer? He flies modified bush planes with 35-inch tires and lives north of Reno, near where you were. It would be cool if you could meet up and do a collaboration. He does what you do, but with airplanes. He’s also made a few videos from Burning Man that I can recommend. As I said, your production is a feast for the eyes.
