@@chisholmmcbschools6967 I don't know about China law and the way they give people driving license. But I can speak about my own country (good old lady boy land, Thailand). Traffic here is horrendous it's very common to have complete grid lock situation in busy part of the city during rush hour (sometimes it is faster to just literally walk). There're no reserved space for emergency vehicle (if there is, ppl will just use that to cut through traffic ending in the same gridlocked road anyway), some road don't even have room for shoulder as they try to make as much road surface for traffic as possible. And also we have lots... LOTS of motorcycle, who (mostly) seem to don't care about other bigger vehicles and just go wherever they want to go. As for the law and general knowledge of how to handle emergency vehicle... well, there probably has a law but the punishment often very very low. And I didn't remember taking any significant course or seminar or any test of how to handle emergency vehicle, how to yield, etc when I got my license. So it's safe to say, most people don't know how to handle it and either just pretend they didn't see them or just panic and stop in the middle of the road and that if they're able to move in the first place.
@mhvdm Жыл бұрын
It's rather astonishing to witness the difficulty some drivers seem to have in yielding to emergency vehicles' sirens. I can't help but imagine the culture shock Norwegian Police would experience if asked to navigate such traffic - it would certainly be a challenging task. In Norway, the practice is quite different, and it's worth noting. Regardless of the traffic situation, our drivers conscientiously make room for emergency vehicles, moving to the side as much as feasible. It's an element of road etiquette that's deeply ingrained in our society and promotes overall safety and efficiency on our roads.

10:33 I just cannot fathom being that cyclist. How could you possibly see the motorcycle with lights and sirens headed straight for you and think "Yeah, I let me just slip in front of that real quick". Also the sheer amount of people just not moving over or creating space is absolutely infuriating. You're doing fantastic work just by helping any bit you can. Also, from what I've seen of other country's police escorts is that using clear hand signals helps a lot. If you directly command people to do something they're more likely to actually stop or move over when needed.
