I remember some people thinking Nemo wasn’t happy for the Dutch giving them points like he’s against them. For me, I knew Nemo’s still proud they’re in the lead but not just sadden with The Netherlands disqualifying, but sad for his friend (Yeah, I remember some of the compilations showing those two hanging out and Nemo did have Europapa as one of their top 5 songs).

I was truly so happy for Jerry and Alyona, love their song , but also the fact we knew the top 3 was between them, Nemo and Baby Lasagna 🥹 And the rest was finally pure joy without stress. What’s so heartwarming is the respect Nemo has for Joost. at the time, Nemo, representing Switzerland, threatened to NOT show up for the grand final after Joost, representing The Netherlands, got unfairly disqualified. Nemo was my #2 pick if Joost didn’t make it, and I’m so happy for Nemo. congrats Switzerland!!

Fakeness is easy to find (anyone who publicizes their "bliss" to strangers is hiding some inner sense of being unfulfilled and emptiness - which generally leads to misery.) I know you're down on yourself, I am too a lot. But I just think of the best kind of person I can be (like a realistic version of "me" I would admire that steps up to the plate and is reliable and able to get things done) and, once in a blue moon, I actually act that way. Which is better than nothing. And even that little bit accomplishes a metric f***ton of life improvement

I was bullied in grade school for being different (seriously, the boys in my school sucked). When I got older, lots of the guys were still interested in sports (seriously bores me) and speaking about business, markets, etc. Also bored me. I liked music, but the people around me were not interested like I was. So I voluntarily isolated myself as I did not want to go to yet another sports bar just to watch another playoff game. But I also realized that I was part of the problem. My interests, even in music, can be fairly specific. So I can play with another musician who just wants to jam over the same tired classic rock 4 chord song, and I roll my eyes (as I liked learning songs with lots of chords that keep your attention by switching it up). It was only later I realized that I can still find the beauty and uniqueness in those 4 chords, as well as playing off the unique individual sitting across from me. Oh, this hyper-interest in certain topics I had did not help me with the ladies whatsoever, so don't think I was partying it up as a teenager/young adult Trust me, I'm not a "walk in the room and command authority" guy. But I followed my interests (turns out, it was programming) and realized that I have quit so many other things that got too hard, what would be left for me if I quit the thing I actually really like just because it's beyond hard and frustrating? So I push through it and become pretty good at it over years of screwing up, which means I know how not to screw up like that anymore. Here, this is pretty basic. Next time you meet up with someone somewhere, anywhere, for any reason, ask them what interests them and just listen. Ask questions about what you don't understand, ask them why they find it interesting, but just try to discover where the excitement they have is. Genuinely, try to UNDERSTAND how they see something they are interested in. Don't have any ulterior motive other than maybe learning something new. Rediscover your inner two year old that's curious about everything and super invested in learning about it. Oh, and don't talk about yourself at all, it's not about you. You're getting a fascinating lesson into a complex individual, don't waste that privilege by talking about something which will teach you nothing (ie yourself and your life as you already know what happened) When you finish that conversation, that person will think you're a genius and super enjoyable. And you'll have learned something. It's win win!
