ESD Amrep on New Organics Carts 815 353

The Wednesday rollout concluded just before March, with this area being the last to be rolled out. I filmed this on the second week of organics collection, and compared to the first week, the set out was a lot greater. Most residents who put out their green cart are throwing food in it was well which is great to see. Despite not having a recycle coordinator riding shotgun, most residents seem to be getting the hang of the program on their own.

Now this is what a successful Curbside organics program looks like. 4:04 As always that one customer that doesn’t care about their cart placement.. props to the driver for going extra and getting out to service the container even if could have very well left that shit right there. Thought I was watching the other version of LA for a second. Can’t wait to see more of SD’s operations.

amrep's sure get the job done better! Glad to see people are actually using the bins, here i think people only use them for yardwaste. Man, if tagging bins was a thing here, most of the bins would be taggged

About half of the 95s are like that. I'm glad the residents are realizing they should set out carts no matter how full.

Great vid, no doubt! I was really hoping to see this as the mainstream way of ESD collecting organics; the new Rapid Rails just don’t cut it for me. That second cart you showed may seem like literally nothing, but then again everyone puts trash out every week already, no matter how full it is, for the same reasons - odors and it being health hazardous.

About half of the carts are either packed with green waste or have just food that wouldn't even make a 5 gallon bucket look full. But I agree with you, they have to set it out or else it'll rot by the next collection day. Glad you enjoyed!

Recycling is still bi-weekly, trash is weekly, and I assume yardwaste/organics is going to follow the old schedule that manual greens followed.
