ESEE 3, Izula II, and Candiru Knife Comparison
I recommend purchasing the ESEE 3 here: bladereviews.com/bladehq-esee-3
I recommend purchasing the ESEE Izula II here: bladereviews.com/bladehq-esee-izula
I recommend purchasing the ESEE Candiru here: bladereviews.com/bladehq-esee-candiru
This is a very vanilla comparison of the ESEE 3, Izula II, and Candiru - 3 small fixed blades made by ESEE knives. I go over basic things like size and weight and a comparison of the features and sheathes. In-depth video reviews of each individual knife are on the way which will include things like cutting demos, and a less superficial analysis.
For the time being I do have written reviews of the knives, which you are more than welcome to check out.

ESEE Izula II Review: bladereviews.com/esee-izula-and-izula-ii-review/

As always, thanks so much for watching. If you enjoyed this video I highly recommend subscribing to BladeReviews.com so you never miss a review: bladereviews.com/subscribe/

Thanks for this video. I was debating between an Izula and an Esee 3 and really needed to see a size comparison before I ordered one.

i got the izula 2 first....great knife all the way around. i have a candiru as well now with the micarta slabs, both are great for edc depending on the size of knife u want to carry and whatever your states knife laws allow.

Thanks man. I agree, the Izula II is a bit much for neck carry - I like to carry both it and the Candiru in pocket... was never really into neck carry (just felt weird to me). I actually have not checked out a SS fixed blade yet - would definitely be interested in checking one out. When I do I'll be sure to report back. Thanks for the support, glad you have been enjoying the vids! :)

Great vid! Favorite part: "3 vs 4 finger" grip comparisons. Why? How a knife feels in your hand matters & is otherwise difficult to determine without being "hands on". Eg. The holes in my Silent Soldier Ranger are too small for my knuckles to pass through making it dangerous for neck or belt carry. Bottom line: size matters, no?

Cool comparison! I have always thaught that the izula is to big for neck carry, but the Candiru looks like a solid neck knife. I have eyed the Brous Blades silent soldier v2, if you have handelen it,NHOs dont compare to the silent soldier as a neck knife?? Love your videos! Keep doing what you are doing!!!

Looking at one of these three for a smaller companion to an ESEE 5. Thinking Izula 2? Use will be actual ASEK/Military Survival (hopefully not!). Best combo with ESEE 5 opinions?

I see what you are saying - I guess compared to a mora or more round handled bushcraft knife it would be less comfortable. That said I've done a fair amount of cutting with it - didn't have any real issues with it. Then again, my use was more camp stuff - I'm no bushcrafter so it might be worth taking this all with a grain of salt!

For EDC the Izula hands down. If I needed an all purpose camp knife or something I might pick the ESEE-3.

Thanks man! I am glad to hear you found it interesting - these size comparisons aren't always the sexiest vids but I hope they help people looking to understand some of the similarities and differences. I am not sure what they were thinking exactly with the sheath - it works, but it pales in comparison to the molded plastic of the Izula.

The Izula II is a little beast. My favorite knife bar none. Even feels great in the hand with nothing more then a paracord wrap.

Well I think the thing is the materials are probably the cheapest part of the knife - the real expense comes from manufacturing and fixed costs (and yes,that would include the ESEE marketing / branding)

Guys I don't understand one thing! Why Candiru cost the same as Izula1? I would like to have so small knife as Candiru, but it cost pretty much for so tiny knife! I bought Izula and it works good, but sometimes need backup so Candiru would work great but that price!!!!
@xlilnetx

My guess is tat the candiru is so small it wil probably break easily so the go ahead and charge u 3x or more what’s it worth so they don’t lose when u send it back in
@Bladereviews
@Bladereviews 11 жыл бұрын
I'd say it's a toss up, Andrew. The Candiru is a little thinner behind the edge but the handle is much smaller making it way more difficult to cut things. Both are coated in some sort of a textured powdercoat so neither are absolute razors.

ARGH American sizing, what on earth is 5/16ths of an INCH lol, mm or cm is SO much easier. In Australia when we use inches we tend to only consider, 1/4, 1/2 and full inch otherwise we choose to use either millimetres, centimetres, Feet/Food (12 inches) or meters. its SO much easier than the US measurements. Also, we use Grams, or Kilograms for weight :) its what you grow up with i guess.

+MaZEEZaM And even easier only with the metric system as in my country, Spain. Who needs fractions of an inch?

I know what 5/16 of an inch is when I see it. With that said it is a ridiculous measurement. I was born and raised in America and understand its units of measurement, but have always said that we should subscribe to the metric system. Multiples of 10, 100, 1000 are so much easier than using the American standard 12:1 for inches to feet, and our other ridiculous random measurements.

@@40belowful I was referring to what the initial post said, but 5/32 is even more ridiculous.
