Just got my first ESEE knife. An SE5. Impressive. Sharp out of the box, heavy duty. I haven't worked it out yet.

Wish the Dark Earth came with those same stock scales, they look so good together. But yea, i really like the Desert Tan too, my Laser Strike is in DT and its my wife's favorite knife, and my second favorite ESEE. Definitely think you made the right decision gettin the E6 instead of the E5, *worlds* more practical, speaking as someone who's had/has both.

I've had both the Gerber knives too, and the *Ultimate Pro* is *definitely well worth getting,* if you like the original. They fixed literally *all the problems* the original had, and made it *world's better,* its a keeper for me, even though I have way nicer knives.

Is Esee 6 superior to 5 for camping, bushcrafting and bug out bag option?

The 6 is full flat ground so better for slicing, feathersticking etc but slightly less ridged and strong. Thinner, lighter weight, no dedicated glass breaker pommel.

The 6 is somewhat superior as the 5 was designed for military operations but either will get the job done.

Looks great dulls faster than any other knife I have though. If you ever get a chance check out a bark river bravo 1 in a2 or 3v

G10 yes. Only the brown handle in 3D is micarta. All the other colours with 3D handle are G10.

Very nice . If you want to buy something and pay zero interest use Klarna . You pay the first payment down and every two weeks you have one payment for 3 more payments. I use it all the time on more expensive knifes . I could buy it straight out , but we live in times that I would rather not drop the full cost down . If your knife is 249 total you would pay 61 about off the door and every 2 weeks for 3 payment 61 bucks . And you can shop anywhere.

Tan sheath would be more logic, along with the tan handle and blade. Agreed. ESEE sells them with the black sheath. Why is beyond me.

@@Ve-suvius yeah idk, it is odd but what bothers me is that on TKC you can get a few variations in a specified configuration (blade color, handle color, sheath color) for $120 but if you use the knife builder to get the exact same pieces but in colors you want it costs you $175.

@@richroc7 Here the ESEE-6 3D at knives and tools costs 219 euro. Crazy. It gets higher faster and faster it seems . They have the Junglas for 300 euro. That's beyond reasonable.
