TBH she's picking the concepts up way faster than most people I've ever explained it to. American football is far from simple and many of the biggest fans couldn't explain completely what Esfand just went over with Maya. That's the beauty of the game -- you can be very basic with formational understanding and just watch the ball (and enjoy the game) as you continue to evolve your understanding of the game over time (or not.. lol).

Ngl personally it's way better focus on formations and the game than going 100% on the positions. If i'm teaching football (soocer) and Basketball. I will expain what are the roles of the guards, the fowards , the center and that they do around the match so u can identify them instead of going hard on what each position does.

Yeah I believe it's because a lot of old sports were played on horseback, so many sports played on foot were named some variation of football, not just because you kick the ball

So its actually Englands fault its called Football today in America it evolved from England as did America.
