Honestly the gothic literature theme was tempting though I'd probably bail on it realising that 90% of the attendees, including the host, somehow know some characters from pop culture but have never read any of the books and are blissfully unaware of the themes, metaphors, symbolism, context and literary heritage, and might spend the entire night romanticising Dorian Gray. If I'd even bother arriving, a single mention of "the Frankenstein" referencing the creation would send me into an unnecessarily long rant, followed by a dramatic exit from the scene. Not to mention that there would be SO MANY amazon-bought black corsets as an outer layer because it's "hot and victorian" and nobody even considers that it was freaking underwear. So maybe it's for the best that the INTJ didn't arrive, we'd go straight to "warning: vibe change".

As an INTJ who has been forced to be present for some parties by my ESTJ mother, we're either helpful so we don't have to socialise (but the loud environment and lots of people drain us pretty quickly) or vibing introvertly at the kids table. Though that is if we're genuinely forced to stay and cannot escape. My mum's 50th birthday party went on until about 3 am and I left with my ISFJ grandma around 9 pm after four hours of waiting for it to be over with earplugs in because I don't have a car and grandma was driving. My ideal image of a "party" is a quiet discussion of various sociopolitically-philosophical-environmental-literary topics at the library - if I somehow am sure that there won't be people making wild claims having done zero research and getting personally offended by constructive feedback. I would actually be more than happy to attend this kind of a party with once a week to once a month frequency. Still would probably be stressed out as hell about the first few. PS: When I was a child, I kid you not, the most blissful parts of visiting any friends of my parents who had children was finding their room in terrible mess and being allowed to clean it up. It was amazing, I once spent half a birthday party of some girl reorganising the furniture in her dollhouse. My Se is miserably weak but the Si, inherited along with some OCD from my grandma, is thriving. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.

I am an ESFJ and I always avoid the passive agressive approach, I've noticed we do have this tendency and it can make people feel awful which is something we definitely don't want. I feel that I've also had time to mature some things with time, there must be some advantage of turning 42 lol. Anyways, thanks for this, because as much as I don't see myself in this behaviour anymore, I entirely agree with the list and it can actually be useful to manage different folks during a party 😅

Currently having a little situation with an ESFJ girl who tries to interpret everything I say into something highly vulnerable emotional, even though it is purely fact based. She got a ragy backlash from me and still tries to become 'close'. Super annoying. All ISTPs be warned ;) On the others side: I have a language-learning-tandem-ESFJ-friend. So if the relationship has a clear purpose, ESFJs can be very useful... especially with consistent meetings :)

I am so pleasantly surprised by the ISFP placement! This shows your understanding of us and that you didn't base this purely on an introvert stereotype, because among the Ixxx types, we're truly the ones closest to being extroverted. We're just...extremely picky about when we do it 😆 An ISFP will be very active at your party...if they decide to show up!

You are placing INTJs at the top of the tier for not doing anything in regards to a party thus incentivizing us not to come to any future parties yet still having a high honour. Thank you. P.S. INTJs will not bring a gift unless it is communicated to us that it is a social norm to bring a gift. Once communicated, we will always bring a gift when we come.

Very surprisingly pleased as an INFJ by what the ESFJ said about us. We have a complex dynamic with Fe doms I feel like cause even if as she said they sometimes try to make others feel guilty, that's not so a problem for INFJs I think because first, we notice the manipulation trying to make us feel guilty (good luck manipulating an Ni dom) but secondly, I think our own Fe just genuinely agrees with them out of our own decision. So we would voluntarily follow their lead and not out of manipulation to make us feel guilty like other people might do but because we would feel guilty ourselves from our own decision. I don't know if I explained that clearly cause that's quite tricky to explain but basically they don't manipulate us out of guilt, they genuinely convince us cause we agree. I feel the need to mention this interaction cause I feel like Fi people who tend to be pissed off by that would assume their INFJ friends are fragile and get manipulated and influenced way too easily when in reality it's a conscious decision and more like ESFJs open our eyes in that case. All types with Fi tend to not perceive it that way cause they have Fi and not Fe. ESFJs' behavior is way less harmful than it seems to be when it's with us actually so I'd like Fi friends to not be too hard on ESFJs. Beside, Kristin is right when she said we're good at keeping introverts engaged. I recently realized myself that we're basically the ENFJs of introverts so other introverts really seem to get more comfortable in our presence cause we're not too pushy and we know how to talk to them so they can participate in the way that fits them and everyone, even introverts, can have a good time at parties after their "session of therapy" lol. The INTJ part was hilarious and yeah, I think the most disrespectful thing to do is to put them in best guest to send them a message cause their perspicacity will get them. If the part about the neighbour is authentic that is literally the best and fits perfectly in this video 😂. ESFJs are interesting people to me because their stereotype usually depicts them as people who are as nice as they're judgemental and I find it really weird. You expect someone judgemental to be mean. So that gives them a very candid side. Like they're very opinionated but it doesn't come from a place of anger. I think it makes it easier to want to try to open their mind unlike an ESTJ for example even if ESTJs don't always do it out of anger either but they're colder and come off more as mean which is detrimental to them I think. It's more bearable, especially for Intuitives (probably not so for NTs cause they're less likely to take that into consideration but I think they should). I find it unfair how people seem to take Te seriously but not Fe. Maybe changing it would make for a better world and people would appreciate others more. Being nice is actually hard and deserves some recognition. Proof is not so many people are capable of it. Have you ever think about it being the key for stopping the feeling that everyone sucks and is a jerk ? Only if you can feel guilty you can look at yourself into a mirror and reconsider your actions in regard of others. Judgement and guilt are a blessing we should learn from. They can keep harmony when used healthily.
