There is a mobile MMO that I used to play called "Order & Chaos: Online" where some mounts would spawn in the wild, and you could catch them, but other people could also catch them, so it was kinda like a competition. You could also get certain mounts as drops from legendery dungeon bosses, which would be like getting a mount from the veteran dungeons in ESO. I wish they added that system to ESO, that would be great

I kind of wish simply fully clearing a zone gave you a mount from that zone Nothing to fancy or cool but it would give more incentive to clear zones.

it is one of the biggest negatives about this game for me. I always liked the idea of collecting mounts and pets.Seeing someone with a cool mount as a new player and then learning that you cannot earn the same mount is really bad feeling.

Exactly, as someone coming from WoW the thought of most mounts not being earnable was a big turn off, luckily the game more than makes up for it in an abundance of content but it's still pretty dumb since you can have loads of mounts in WoW without spending money on them.

My biggest issue with the game are the mounts and cosmetics. 90% of good cosmetics and mounts are obtained with money, I never look at someone on a cool mount and think “wow, how did he get that!?” I think “lol how much he pay for that!” It leaves me with hardly any incentive to play.

Yeah agree 100% played on and off since launch and honestly came back to it a month ago and after all the crazy stuff I've seen come and go in the store for crown gems I'm done with the game it's not that I can't shell out for the crown gems through breaking stuff down in boxes it's that it's so bat shit expensive that I won't do it the fact these amazing mounts are not only locked behind the store but such a foul move like crown gems shows me this game has had its last instal for me.

@@Hollow_Autumn I feel like you, but kept playing on a daily basis and I have to say: there’s hope for everyone. I bought Blackwood CE and obtained ALL the Collector’s Edition contents for EVERY main chapter. For 40€ I got content, cosmetics and tons of mementos/emotes. I think it’s the best all around purchase you can make. Now there’s Undaunted event and that gives you Opal Motifs just by playing and those are so freaking beautiful ! PS: I managed to get the whole Hollowjack and Dremora motifs in Halloween event, those are unique and beautiful and only obtainable by playing through the event.

It's extremely frustrating the way ZOS does their mount system. It's either pay money for slightly reskinned variants of the same 8 mounts we've had for forever or shell out some coin for a reg horse. The game desperately needs new earnable mounts and new variants it's been the same for far to long.

I really like ESO, but with the sub that is almost mandatory, we should'nt have all this sh** in the crown store. Should all be baseline/unlockable by putting time into the game.

Even we buy all expansion + ESO Plus we still can't earn 90% of the mount in the game compare to FFXIV that have a ton of mount and cosmetic and no freaking loot box and that is not even include some stupid little thing like outfit slot that you need to pay for 1500 crown per slot while FFXIV is just haha 15 slot for free playing ESO is like playing a F2P game that you need to pay for the expansion and then pay for subscription for good QoL and if you want some quality cosmetic? loot box.

I think this should be the system. Dailies reward coffers and in each daily coffer you have a % chance for xp scrolls, crown food or pots. Trails should give a % chance at awarding cool trial specific mounts that arent BOP but instead BOE so they can be traded. Dungeon achievements should award dye colors and have a higher chance for the basic motif books (nord, kahjit, argonian, ect. ect.) so that newer players can still have a unique style and express themselves. Either mount training should be account wide or give world boss/dolmen/dragon/harrows/dungeon bosses a small % chance to drop mount training manuals that at BOE to that specific character to avoid bot boosting. For such an insanely successful game.. they really are years behind basic QoL updates that F2P MMOs use today.

there are quite a few houses you can get, though you do have to do a lot of quest and then spend a lot of gold. but there are more than you'd guess. mounts though, yeah, severe shortage TT

Only major complaint I have with it is how seemingly monetized a lot of the stuff is. But the dungeon design and questing are a level above any other mmo I’ve played!

Why not earn a area specific mount after completing that area? Morrowind, a cute guar. Summerset, a armored indrik. Orsinium, a durzog. Elsweyr, a terror bird. Greymoore, a skyrim horse. Gold coast, a ox. Hew's bane, a camel. Murkmire, a wamasu type mount. Southern Elsweyr, a senche-raht. Aldmeri dominion zone clear, a senche mount. Covenant, a lion. Pact, a bear. Craglorn, a wolf.

i wish the ebon wolf mount was actually free bc you still have to spend more more on dlc just to have access to the 12th lead... concerning all other leads i was able to get them with just the base game (morrowind and imperial city are free dlc ) but i had to buy greymoor just to get access to one lead which was kind of irritating :/ (side note i love this guys vids bc they are very helpful)
