Hey, man! First time on ur channel, good stuff with the clips at the end. Quick question tho. I've been out for maybe 6+ months and I have way of fire on my arc. Does the plague set ur running out dps that set now?

I’d say it’s situational. However, if you calculate the times and tooltips when stacking dmg, plague slinger has always been higher dps. That being said it is still situational. If you are on the offensive most of the time then I’d run way of the fire… personally though, I think slinger is better overall for how I play this build because 1. We are slow 2. We are always taking dmg 3. It has more dmg overall than fire and when I’ve gotten crits they usually hit for 3-4k per orb. To paint the picture if 3 of this orbs crit that could be 8-12k dmg in 3 seconds with all of our dots ticking at the same time it lines up to be a lot of dps on a single target that the odds are they aren’t going to be able to heal through it forever. Now, way of the fire is still great. Slinger is also a medium set that being said and gives you weapon dmg on 2 stats. Fire is heavy armor. They both have their pros and cons. Plague slinger is also not always a guaranteed hit either so keep that it mind too, but if you’re kiting or not facing and attacking the enemy fire is also doing nothing for you. Arcanist has survivability to where you can face tank people. I had 10 guys beating me down and this plague slinger was hitting on cooldown and I was still shredding people while on my back bar playing defensively. Other commenters do have valid critiques of this set, but I think overall it’s perfect for this build and how it is played. Also, welcome to the channel. Thanks for stopping by.

I just hit 50 last night! Haven't played in years. I think I will go for this build. Ive been torn on builds a bit since I was thinking I was going to more of a ranged caster on arcanist. Doing early research I went stamina and have been going dest staff and 2h. I have really enjoyed the tankiness from spamming the crux shield. Thank you for this build and how attainable is it for a newer player with not much gold (Unless this pattern that I tried to sell for 99k last night hit)

I don’t think you can get a batter arcanist build than this right now that can do everything. If you want to make it easier to build, you can swap Plague Slingers for Dragons Appetite set. It’s craftable and very strong as well. I use both!

Great build. I fought against this (A1REEZ80) and you wrecked me. I couldn't heal or shield enough to counter. If I had some room to move away from your Vate staff or just get some room away from your Masters DW, I might have stood a better chance but anything within melee range and I believe this build would wreck it. The best all around set I would recommend is Dragons Appetite or Plague Slinger, followed by Way of the Fire, etc. something that gives proc dmg, because arcanist is weak without procs. I have not tested tarnished. I think it’s overrated, but I can see why people use it. I’m not saying it’s not good, I just think the sets I named are better.

@@Hornzipfel4LIFE beam setup will be very different. Beam is not very effective in solo play. If you’re in a group it is very nice. However, you’re probably not going to 1vX with it. Yes dragons app works with the dual wield rending slashes, vampire skill arterial burst, or cleave are options to proc the bleed dmg.

About 16-18k on the regular target dummy that gave no buffs and that was a crit I am pretty sure. Of course that was also on a PvP spec. I think it’s not uncommon for PvE specs to be able to hit close to 20-22k per .3 sec though w/raid buffs

Also, if you don’t have plague slinger you can sub it out with dragons appetite. This gives you two lines of recovery and then you can put a mag recov glyph on one of your jewelry to help with sustain

@@Alcapone-ew8ru if you are looking for a dueling setup, I’d either use this build or replace plague slinger with dragons appetite and use zaans as the monster set. You can also swap plague slinger out for serpents disdain. Arcanist dmg is not that great, so it relies on proc sets

Yea, they tried to “nerf” it last patch, but it just got stronger with the changes to hemorrhaging status effect it’s basically unchanged. Well, I should say at least for damaging setups it’s about the same or better. With tank setups it’s still good just not as good.

If you build all crux and are running deadly it hits ok. Don’t get me wrong, it’s the best damaging skill arc has, but it lacks in my opinion. It’s hard to 1vX with, it’s interruptible, and if they are fast or kiting you won’t hit them with it. Overall, more of a pve skill in my opinion. NOW, if you’re running a group with a pull like dark con or rush… then fatecarver is absolutely deadly. It’s really good to use if you’re in a group of 3+ imo. Not so much anywhere else

I'm using a pve build, deadly lighting staff , 5 pieces. Mechanical acuity 5 pieces, oakensoul, and 1 piece selene. I used it in pvp yesterday and I went 15-6 which is good because I'm not a pvp player. In a good pvp player hands I think it'd do better than 15-6

Messed with deadly and had a ranged build with deadly and draugrkin it worked well in group and that was about it. Deadly buffs the hell out of beam. I have the BG match on here from 2-3 weeks ago… you should check it out. It’s deadly, draugrkin, masters ice staff, and I think death dealer or balorghs. It shredded.

Replace that Plague Slinger with Way of Fire or Dragon's Appetite and congrats, you'll have a serviceable 1vX build. Outside of duels, Plague Slinger won't do you much good. And even in duels, with Arcanist survivability, you don't want a bunch of your dps being tied to whether you take damage or not.

Yes potentially, however also no. When you’re getting zerged down way of the fire will not do you any good if you have to consistently move away and be on back bar doing no dmg. Plague is better for this in my opinion. The only time it is not doing dmg is when somebody is running. With sea serpents we aren’t chasing anyways. Plague also does more dmg overall more consistently.

I can somewhat see where you are coming from… however, I could not disagree more… It’s more pressure especially when Vate and Masters and all the status effects are ticking and I can switch to back bar if needed and still be damaging with it. Open field is a different story, but you’re never 1vX-ing an open field with nothing around you to kite unless the players are just really bad. And if they are that bad… they are getting hit by this set…I wouldn’t sleep on it personally.

The main thing why I went with this over fire is that when I am not hitting light attacks I am still gaining from it. But you are correct in that it doesn’t always hit who I want. The main thing I dislike about this is when you’re fighting a runner. Because then I will say this set is not doing anything for you then.

ESO is an embarrasing bugfest that ZOS doesnt care to fix as long as you keep shoveling money at them. You cant even pvp in cyrodiil cause the lag spikes will eat your inputs. Well, idk about all that, but at launch yes the game was not very good that’s for sure. But like Fallout 76 they built it up and didn’t give up when they failed. I give them props for turning both games around. Still ESO isn’t perfect, and a lot of things I am not exactly in love with, but it’s a good game. And for the money if you were to not buy any DLCs you can get what is essentially tons of PVE content for like $5 on sale that can last you thousands of hours when it comes to questing etc. ZOS has fucked up a lot, but they have also done a lot of things right.

Well, define garbage. It shreds. Arc can do almost nothing without procs. It’s options are very limited when it comes to being able to do damage effectively. I don’t think you can push a better setup than this unless you add Zaans or Dragons appetite. I use all of them on Arc, however I also only use procs on arc really. It doesn’t have burst like other classes do so you’re unfortunately bound to setups like this that give free damage. Just how it is. That’s arc for ya. Other classes can get away with not running procs.
