Glad to hear argonians mentioned as a good race for jack of all trades, I previously decided to make my future warden (probably next character) an argonian warden where I can succeed as a tank and healer, I’ll at least have magicka bonuses for magicka dps and I’ll have the potion bonus for stam dps as well. When I saw the warden it made me think of the Druid in WoW, a solid class able to comfortably fit all roles, so first thing I thought was “what race can help me do that?”

Yeah, I'm glad I originally bought it on disc - it took 45 min to install the base game. And it's been about 15 hours since it started downloading the 3-years-worth of updates. I'm at 76%... Not terrible, I guess. It did take about 26 hrs to download the 2/3rds of Fallout 4 that Bethesda refused to put on the disc (and then another 2 hours to download the day one update). I feel bad for my roommate - he has the digital version through Steam. It's probably going to be several days (maybe a week?) until it's done downloading for him (he paused it until my download is finished, otherwise the internet completely stops working).

Went and made a templar nord werewolf when the game first started with which I used to do anything back when I had no clue about mmo's as a total, this video makes me want a change of char so badly.

So, since this video made me want to check eso out again, I logged in said nord ww templar, and honestly, I still think nords can be very good tanks. Also, on the matter of werewolf vs vampire, I checked the skills available to me and I don't see how a vampire could beat a werewolf really. I think I saw in another video, I can't remember if it was yours or somebody else's, that werewolves don't bring as much to the table as vampires, but all the skills and passives the werewolves have are vastly superior to the ones I have as a normal player damage-wise while the vampires only bring a sweet stamina recovery but not much else in terms of damage, unless I missed a lot in these years and the game has changed so much since then.

This guide covers the BEST race for each role. nords are perfectly useable as tanks and stamina dps,, they just arent "the best".

I would have to disagree about argonians being better than a nord for tanking sure that passive for potions is nice but flat out dmg mitigation goes a lot further cuz the potions passive actually has a cool down now if u could just chug pots without cool down then by all means argonians would be better choice

I got eso 2 days ago and with a sub so i could get the best of the game, but as soon i started playing i saw that race/class make a difference here... I am a bit lost really, my usual playstyle in most mmos is stealth/rogue/ranger types as ranger/Archer being my fav type of playstyle. And i really dont know what to do... I went nightblade redguard, because someone said if you want a ranged class is to go nightblade... I want to have fun, be useful in pve and able to compete in pvp... Having to much to choose sometimes is not good

I dont think having too much is necessarily bad, but i would say trying to take in too much at once could not be good and causing you to get lost in the sea of information Ill make it simple for you Any class can be ranged. any single class. Do you wanna be ranged with a Bow? You will be playing a stamina based character. your preferred races are redguard, khajiit, wood elf, Imperial, or Orc Do you wanna be ranged with a staff? you will be playing a magicka based character. your preferred races are high elf, dark elf, breton or argonian Hope this helps!

And yes, ranged with a bow, as you said in one of your guides, a good race dont make a bad player good, this is so true, i work hard to be as good and useful as possible but i also want to make the best out of the class i play. Eso is actually a good mmo, in fact, the most fun mmo i tried in the recent years, and i want to trully dedicate my time to it. I've been trained by the single player games that Breton are the most OP race, followed by orcs. My main character always was a jack of all trades Breton. Gonna be hard to move away from that idea.

Khajiits need a better passive than cut purse. Cut purse is worthless, it should be something like agility themed like 5% chance to dodge attacks or something

The first passive for every single race is normally tied to experience gain or something less combat related. Like for Altmer, their first passive Increases experience gain with the Destruction Staff Skill line by 15% & increases your experience gained by 1%. Normally the other 3 are what you're mainly concerned with combat wise

I'm a woodelf magicka nightblade. Think I'll be okay or should I try to switch to stamina? The extra 21% stamina recovery is already pretty good that it balances it out and still able to perform well with magic plus the 10% stealthy ability helps too

My problem is that I can only identify and immerse with a few races...maybe only a couple (Nords and Bretons)... which incites great cognitive dissonance, in that I also want those optimal potentials, no matter how minor they are...I know they exist, therefore , I must have them...lol. Once upon a time, I took the most beautiful and desirable and affluent girl in my class to a party... I wound up leaving early with a much tatted and studded, Goth chick, bartendress... 13 years of psychoanalysis, down the tubes again!

Depends what your goals are. Are you trying to be a top tier pvper/pver? If so, then yes. If not, then ultimately it's about playing the race you enjoy the most :) you can make up for the lack of certain racial passives the more "optimal" races have through gear, mundus and food choices

No you can use a 1h. The leveling bonuses don't honestly need to be considered.

Okay so I'm not sure what race I want to be, I'm new to ESO but have spent more houra than I care to admit on Skyrim. In skyrim I did everything but mainly I either had one weapon and magic, two handed weapon, or a bow in hand. I don't know how I will play but probably like I used to. Same stam races as mentioned in the video honestly, but the choice is way more personal ever since the wrathstone changes. Orc/Dunmer are the top 2, but not by much when compared to the other races. Class is up to you. Stamblade currently parses the highest tho

well for heavy armor dps, in pvp, youll more often than not be a stam toon or magDK. so dunmer, redguard, bosmer or orc

+Joe just fixed the broken link! And I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! In terms of your question: I would say the current best race class combination for sheer DPS is a redguard stamina DK. Also, a "build" generally refers to a class/resource setup. So you don't have a high elf build, but rather a Magicka Sorcerer build with the best race in terms of damage being high elf. Hope that makes sense!

Thank You Dottz, yes that does make sense and I do know what you mean about the correct way of referring to a build, but for the purposes we are discussing here I may have to go alittle Out of Order, lol I need to ask you one more question, bc I really do value your opinion and I should have asked this question first (above), the Race I am most interested in right now is the Imperial, I have a few Characters now and I want to get the Imperial package and build an Imperial Race Character!! What I think so far from watching your video's and getting some info from some other Utuber's, is that the passives for the Imperial are geared towards Stamina and he would make a good Tank, so now thats all I need to decide is what Class would be best for a "Stamina (Class) Imperial Tank"!!
