This game is destined to die due to the combat team unfortunately. They have no idea what they're doing. The patches are like musical chairs for our classes and builds - they buff, nerf, change and revert everything nonsensically. The final straw for me was Update 43's Arctic Blast nerf - my DD PvP Stamden literally no longer has a viable burst heal (I refuse to buy the DLC for Healing Soul or stack my health to 40k for Polar Wind).

When he says what do I do when I log in, I felt that. As a mostly solo player, where ESO offers a great single player experience, when you reach the end of what you like to do, it falls off a cliff. I log on, get my log in bonus, do my crafting writs, and look at the map for five minutes. Then I just log off. There's nothing to do for solo players. We need another solo arena or incentive to solo vet dungeons or a boost to the infinite archive or something.

It needs regular, small story updates consisting of a string of quests heavy on exploration, that will send you across the world, fighting slightly harder enemies than normal. Players dont play Bethesda games to 'run dungeons' they play to explore and discover...

I recently reached 5K hours of gameplay time, starting from 2019. And there are two things that mainly made me reach that number, and I still to this day don't think there's enough time in the day to complete... 1- re-doing every quest for the 1st time (on a second character I decided to have as my main) started 2 years ago and now I'm in Morrowind, chronologically... so that's 2 more years probably to Gold Coast XD 2- Completing a house / decorating. A 100% zone completion takes me 3 weeks to a month, a house 2 weeks, and I can't do both tasks at the same time lol And I have zero time to do other stuff like collect sets, achievements, or trials. My interruption to both tasks are the annual events. I'm always wondering how you guys say there's nothing to do, even if you don't waste your time redoing stories like I do or decorating a pixels house, surely the other stuff take the same time.

This. Played since launch and even after just hitting cp 300 I had every lore book, shyshard, and most missions. Its super grindable and very fun but man i sure wish there was more to it. Lets hope Tes6 is nice.

I’m calling it now. The pvp changes will be 10 ”class/player type” options where you choose one and go into pvp with it. Like engineer, medic, assault in fps games. But in eso speak. Healer, tank, range dps stamina etc. Then you can mix and match a few skills with each class to make them feel more “dynamic”. That or there will be a point system where you choose from a set number of skills to make your build to limit the amount of skills lagging the servers. They are going the way of every other live service game and narrowing down player choice. Sad.

Genuinely believe eso is the most casual friendly mmo there is. And i know Cyrodiil has performance issues, but honestly everyone should get to experience a full pitched battle there. Even with its issues, the cyrodiil experience is something i haven't gottencin other games. Im EP and you recognize players you're fighting alongside at all hours of the day. While it can get toxic and theres bad actors, it is still great seeing callouts and then the random chaos that can unfold. A few days ago we saw things calming down in the South and someone nade a glademist call. No groups or anything it seemed like, but just a giant trail of players going where it seemed like a fight was and we fought open field for like 20ish minutes going back and forth eith DC. It was great. Pvp is awesome.

ESO released in 2014... For nearly 10 years now, Zenimax have been promising to make "PvP Cyrodiil Updates" to make it playable... To this day, if there is a ball group or mora than 20 people engaged in a fight in relatively small area, the game lags. If there are multiple people attacking you, there is ability delay... It is really a pitiful excuse of a game...

The great concern is the nerfs coming with the "new hard overland content." Since they don't want to improve npc damage or skills, want to make players weaker and nerf based in pvp only. Letting down pve players. Vampire mist as port now is an example, before was a cloud and channel.

I played ESO for a while and my biggest gripe was a front line player (tank) can't do damage.. So I would constantly be needing to swap gear and skills. Also there is so much grinding for all the factions.... you want equilibrium as an example? enjoy running around and collecting books... it need an overhaul on many systems and make tanks useful minus trial content

Seasons and season passes are a huge miss, but not as bad as the pvp changes coming. Giving all classes the same set of pvp only skills is anything but role playing and makes it a joke at best. One Tamriel ruined the overland experience and upping the difficulty will kill its millions of causals. Sad....this game could of been the goat

Man, I started playing in 2017, I officially stopped in late 2023. A lot would have to change, I Never felt powerful in eso, Always nerfs, and game changes so drastic that my character/toon felt like I was throwing water balloons at the enemy. To me it can be seen as they are ramping down and don't want to say "were done with the game", so they say they are changing the frequency of updates and releases. Hopefully I am wrong but as he said they are a business and not a soup kitchen. End goal for them is "$$$". I am also pulling my opinions from the Studio Director's Letter that was released on the 17th. If I am wrong, I do expect some major QOL patches and updates to be made.

I'm still playing the game daily after all these years and I will probably continue to play until they shut the servers down. I do play ESO primarily as a solo game, which is probably why I never run out of things to do. I will also admit that I do enjoy the housing aspect of the game. It reminds of the days when I used to play Animal Crossing on the Gamecube. Only with ESO, I can leave my house and start killing stuff if I get bored of moving furniture around. And the fact that many of the story quests are legitimately interesting helps to keep me engaged as well. As you might guess, from admitting that I used to play Animal Crossing, I tend to be more of a casual player so I don't need every-increasing difficulty or endless challenges to enjoy any game. In fact, if the game is a constant struggle and I never feel like my characters are getting stronger at all, then I'll lose interest in the game. Once you get past a certain level, then you should feel overpowered when running around the overworld. This is why I hope they don't go too far in their plans to increase the overworld difficulty in 2025. My real life is stressful enough and I play video games to relax and decompress from a long day at work, not to add even more stress to my life. Anyway, your insight into the game has definitely been missed and I hope to see more ESO content from you in 2025!

My biggest issue with ESO and why I am not playing it constantly / year round is that it requires me to be able to pay for ESO+. If I can't afford it, there is quite literally no point in playing because the crafting mats I get daily are going to overwhelm me and the limited space to boot will make it impossible to play and have fun. That's the issue. I would play this game year round if not for this fact. It's so unfortunate. I'm not always able to spend $20/month on the game and as such, unable to play for large amounts of time.

They need to reevaluate the classes Arcanist is OP and lowering its power is not gonna help. They need to rework all classes so that their abilities and passives are more par. Also maybe get rid of a few of the currencies there are too many and they keep adding more. Fragments, scripts, event tickets, endeavors, crowns, crown gems, tel vars, alliance points, gold, undaunted keys, etc etc etc… too many currencies. Cyrodil needs a massive rework and maybe put in an exploration mode where PVE solo players can go in and get quests done and things completed without feeling like they can’t enjoy the content. BG change is good and Cyrodil in itself isn’t terrible but maybe adding new modes to it can revitalize it. Stop selling sky shards in the crown store and make it an account wide unlock and if you like discovering them then make it an option to turn off the account wide unlock. I don’t mind the company making money but some of it is just predatory and just plain time killers. Motifs should also be account wide unlocks. I shouldn’t have to go on the one character to figure if I need a motifs or not. Hell if they hand picked a few community players and not just content creators but maybe people that have played continuously for years and have a grasp as to what is missing they would do so much better. The issue I have with ESO is the fact that every build can be a tank,healer,dps all in one build which I find very off putting for an MMO. Maybe cause I've played WoW for 14years and I'm accustomed to that play style? I keep trying to get into it but when I start building my build for the play style I would like to play, it's not viable for end game and I have to rearrange it so I'm an AIO build which I personally think is garbage.

This game was one of my favorites. I had over 700 hours on Xbox and another 250 on pc. Today I thought about redownloading again and I am glad I didn’t. For me, ESO is one of the best mmorpgs out there, and I play a ton of them. It has everything! Although after more than ten years, I finally canceled my ESO+ because of New World, & I'm loving it. Still, ESO for new players, casual PvP players is 100% enjoyable, regardless of what you like (PvE/PvP/Crafting/Fishing/Housing) I do think that the love for the PvP community is not existing but I also think that that's what you get when you rush to the end game. But after ten years... I can get that to 😂. For me, the best part of ESO is the battle system (after you have a couple of skills & learn to rotate & weave) & the motifs. Who doesn't like to play Barbie with their character? That's ESO's real endgame... make it your own! 😂

The main thing that drove me away from Cyro PvP are Ball Groups... or rather ESO Devs not doing anything really to address the issue & allowing one meta play style to run rampart.. As far as I am aware, they never actually did anything aside from buffing this abusive play style. Over the years it has gotten so bad that right now there is really no way to fight against it, and the best you can really do is to leave the fight... which is why I left.... This is more or less why population gotten so low. Not just cuz you can not do anything, but also when a pre-made groups do show up, you feel it even before you see them cuz games lags out.

As long Edo has its stupid weapon swap combat, weave in light or heavy attacks in between spells it will loose more and more ppl. It will not die but it will be like New World. Only people who really love it and love that style of shit will be there. World of Warcraft is slowly taking copying good things from other MMOS but still keep their combat, raid and animation style which is why it’s superior to other MMOs. Only thing Elder Scroll Online will see better days is if they change their stupid combat, and actually make classes and decent combat with specific weapons.

Classes have all looked and played the same outside of 2 skills for YEARS now. I warned about this with the hybrid shit and all you content creators just couldnt stop loving it. The game would be much more popular if dumbasses didn't just skip through all dialogue and storytelling. Appreciation for the craft of story in games is long gone. Sad. I have completed every main story in the game up to Gold Road and nearly all of the side stuff, and I regret none of it. The only part of ESO I ever regret spending time on is when I have to do anything PVP. I don't think this has ever been a good format for competitive battles. There is way too much swing in skill level. PVP is a skill. Truth. It's a skill I have zero interest in building. I think the PVP should just be a totally separate game. For my money, the trials and cooperative elements in ESO are the social elements worth playing. The 4v4 randomized thing can kinda work cuz it's a roll of the dice, but there are still better odds that it is an even battle. Anyway, I know a huge % of the population has the opposite opinion, Deltia even says "PVP is the best part of this game" in this video. Count me as one for the opposite argument.

RIGHT!!! Id love to go kill rats as a quest in ESO. It would actually be more fun than "run to random area, find 3 plants, run back" crap quests. Followed by talking that is relevant for like 3 seconds before you go to another zone and have a 100% different quest direction. I WANT to love ESO, but this crap sucks.

@faithfitness1658 lmaoo true one of the biggest lies ever perpetuated was how good the quests are in this game, its one of the things that brought be to this game and it was easily my biggest disappointment and i really gave it a shot i quested to CP 200. somehow down the line people started conflating good voice acting/mediocre but sometimes good writing = good quests Ironically the best questing I've ever played in an MMO was osrs and it has 0 voice acting and the writing doesn't take itself serious at all couldn't tell you any of the lore worth shit but they were all fun and rewarding
