This build does not use oakensoul. There seems to be some confusion about this and I keep getting comments on it. If you watch the video and look at the infographic behind me, you will notice this build does not use oakensoul by default. The reason for this is that you don’t need it. This build provides you with all the buffs you need.

I've been running lots of nightblade tanking in casual runs recently, been having some fun with it, I do some of the things here but with a few differences. I am using Nazaray and Turning Tide but since I'm an argonian I'm pairing with Arkasis. I pair with a mixture of infused/swift jewelry to get 14% extra speed, reducing my potion cooldown to 32 seconds and getting a tiny bit of magicka recovery. For add groups I make sure to have refreshing path and concealed weapon to speed the group up between adds and drink a potion on cooldown whenever I'm in combat so 3 peeps get 44 ult but I get 64, I easily refill to 500 charges on the way to bosses and my team gets to dump ults all day. in bosses I go for a setup that gives me tons of debuffs, minor vuln from lotus fan, major vuln from TT, minor cowardice from power extraction, major cowardice from mass hysteria, minor brittle, minor maim and major maim from frost clench to top it off then pop my aggressive horn to give the team their major force and extend every single one of those debuffs by 25 seconds. By the time that nazaray cooldown is off I might even already have an extra little proc ready beetween arkasis and minor heroism with heroic slash. It might not be the ideal setup but god dammit it's fun.

Haha sounds like a really good setup! Arkasis for ulti gen seems like a great idea! Particularly in trash between pulls. Like you said, might be something better, but it’s not always about optimization.

Those skills work on the bb with oak? Are they changing that so slotted skills work like that?

I would expect not, but I havnt tested it out since we don’t need it for this build. Only some skills work no matter the bar you are on. They introduced the code for the arcanist and have slowly been adding it to the other classes.

I got another comment about oakensoul on this build and I realize this one was also for this build and not my one bar dps build. This build does not use oakensoul. So those abilities work on the back bar.

I love running my NB tank. The teleporting and refreshing path alone are the best. I use dunmer though as it's my main and I have armory for tank/dps/heals/pvp on it. Only questio though is that I do use reinforced and divines (no sturdy) on my NB and DK tanks, Is that no longer the recommendation? I don't have issues surviving but wanna make sure I'm not gimping myself.

Nah, all those are fine. I cover them all more in depth in my ultimate tanking guide, but bottom line is just get to resistance cap for hard content, and reinforce is the best way to do that with armor.

@@Nightharrow thanks for the clarification. I personally hate tanking (probably cause I only tank pug vet dungeons) but NB zoom zoom teleport tanking makes it more fun.

Going for a 2 bar setup NB, Sword and shield whats should i do with weapon trait, sturdy and reinforcement ? Void bash set for trash and puncturing remedy for boss fight. just trying to figure out the trait

I’ll link the two bar build in case it’s helpful. Some of the skills have changed recently. Infused, charged, powered are all good on the front bar. It’s a choose your own adventure. For shield, I would do sturdy, unless you are under resistance cap, then go reinforced. Hit me up if you have follow ups or I missed anything. do you have any builds that are not depended on pvp gear and or trial gear? have you ever thought of doing a written guide?

Definitely, and I should have included some suggestions here. Although I will say, if you can do dungeons, you can do trials. They are not really any harder on normal. Powerful Assault you can also purchase from guild trader and is how most people get theirs. Oftentimes I’ll include crafted or overland options. For this build (and really any tank build) I would start with fortified brass, and armor of the seducer. Both are craftable and should let you easily farm up what you need. I have given some thought to written guides, it’s just a lot of work and then you have to keep it up to date. Not to mention maintain whatever site you use, so it’s definitely something I’m working on, but will be a little bit yet. :) Thanks for dropping a comment!

It seems that when using Oakensoul, you cant get those NB passives if theyre on the back bar. I tried it after watching this video. Am I missing something there?

It got nerfed unfortunately. But if you look at the build, you will notice it doesn’t use oakensoul.

Do more with this with hard classes that need more assistance like ice staff warden one bar, necromancer one bar than nightblade when NB is the top one. I like it but would like to see those one and others.
