Here's shred wizard Cameron Stucky tearing it up on the Horizon Custom '87, part of our LTD '87 Series instruments that pay homage to the ESP catalog of the late 1980s. Available in Black, Candy Apple Red, and Pearl White, the Horizon Custom ’87 takes the amazing archtop body of the ESP Horizon, and offers it exactly as you’d have found it in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s… minimally adorned and built to shred! This guitar offers neck-thru-body construction at 25.5” scale for intense sustain, pairing an alder body and an extra-thin three-piece maple neck. The Horizon Custom ’87 features a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets and no inlays; side position dots help you find your way. Its components include a Floyd Rose 1000 double-locking tremolo, a Seymour Duncan TB-5 Custom Trembucker in the bridge, and a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the neck position. Coil spitting for single-coil tones on either or both pickups is available via push-pull controls on the volume and tone knobs.

I wish you guys would reissue the ultra rare '87 Mirage-Horizon transitional model, the "Mirage SSH". Mine was stolen and lost track of it changing hands over the years. It appeared in the 1987 Japanese catalogue on page 12 and on a flyer (bottom centre in the grid), available in amber (which mine was) and blue. Bolt-on 22-fret Horizon body, non-recessed trem, thick Mahogany body like a Mirage but with a carved Maple top like a Horizon. Much heftier tone than the 24-fretters with the big block heel and the lack of cutaways! A real player's player even though it was a chonker. Neither of the ones in the catalogue/flyer were mine (I can tell from the flame) so at least three exist(ed)!

I have the black one and got it two months ago and it is spectacular. I actually have a 1988 /89 original ESP horizon which I will do two videos in the next few weeks on in comparison.

No. This is part of our '87 Series, with specs that are very close to the original model from 1987.
