I never thought I liked Les Paul style/single cut guitars, being mainly a superstrat guy. However, this guitar looks and sounds great. I’m not in the market for another guitar at the moment as I bought one less than four months ago and my wife recently gave birth to our daughter so I’m a little preoccupied with other things, but I can definitely see myself getting one of these in the future if I decide I need another hard tail.

What is the negative stuff? I'm thinking of buying one...
@paulh46913 жыл бұрын
@@Dral.09 Stuff I saw in reviews and forums included: people complaining about poor finishing; binding half inch short; electronic problems; poor fret work including high frets and rough ends. One even complained that it is a heavy guitar. People also complaining about tone saying it needs new pick ups. Some say the coil tapping function does nothing... I bought one a few days after making my comment here, so for what they are worth, I can give you my impressions after a month with it. Firstly, I got onto this as I wanted an LP style guitar but not a Epiphone as I don't buy made in China guitars (personal reasons), and these were supposedly made in Indonesia. I wanted the Cobalt blue but when I got to the shop, I found the Cobalt blue ones were made in China :-( However then the store guy pointed out that the Dark burst colour was made in Indo. No idea why, he reckoned it wasn't old stock and had it only just came in, but anyway, I was fine with that as it is a beautiful guitar! What I can tell you about the one I bought is: It was unplayable out of the box which would have been very disappointing for a beginner I would imagine, but really it just needed half a turn on the truss rod and a slight raising of the bridge so no big deal. Mine had a QC check sticker from the US but I'm in Oz and Indo is just above us so not sure whey it needed it to go to the US for a QC check. Perhaps all that climate variation caused the neck to move a bit (??) The finish is perfect. There are zero flaws in it - Beautiful guitar for sure, really impressed. 👍 The binding is perfect. The fret work is some of the best I have seen. Every one is perfectly smooth and there are no high frets. I've owned quite a few electric guitars but over the last 10 years, only one, my Mexican Strat which I love, so I can really only compare this guitar to that. My Strat has a few slightly rough frets at the bridge end of the board. The LTD fretwork is perfectly smooth, and I checked them all for high/low spots, there are none! The LTD is definitely not a heavy guitar and is lighter than the Strat. Its a comfortable guitar to play (although the Strat is better ;-). I know apples and oranges comparing tone on this to the Strat, but anyway, the Strat tone is superior to me, and the Strat feels better to play to me (maybe just because that's what I'm used to). I play no set style of music, I play bits and pieces of whatever I'm into that day, and for me realistically most of the time, I'm still picking up the Strat, except on those Metal type days when the LTD is superior for sure ;-) I understand why some would want to change the pups. I'm fine with them, but I don't gig and I'm generally running through my Katana or amp modelling effects units and it sounds great to me with them. I would agree with others that the coil tapping doesn't do very much.. The neck is great (though I'd still take my Strat neck but that's just a personal thing). To cut a long story short, the LTD is a very nice guitar and for anyone wanting to play heavier stuff, its a winner. Now, my one issue which I am really not impressed with. The bridge pickup occasionally fades in and out. Its only done it a handful of times so I know its pointless taking it back to the shop as it is very unlikely it will happen there.. I can't see anything wrong with the wiring so no idea why, but it is a bit disappointing and I did read of someone else having that problem.. Other than that, it is a very nice guitar 👍
@Dral.093 жыл бұрын
@@paulh4691 thanks a lot for this amazing feedback man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The needed tuning is ok to me, but this pickup "problem" scares me a little. But overall and Yeah for the money I think it is a pretty solid guitar.
@paulh46913 жыл бұрын
@@Dral.09 it was a bit of setting up it needed, but yeah that is another thing. It deffinately slips out of tune more than my Strat but not enough to worry me. If gigging I'd think about different tuners. I wouldn't be turned off by my pickup issue. If it was very common there would be a lot of others complaining, and out of everything I read and watched on them, I only saw one other. I don't regret buying it. Very nice guitar 👍

jackson king v js32 vs this guitar. Which one did you like most? I am comparing because those are my budget options. Would like to hear from you. Nice video.
@megahurtz304 жыл бұрын
Hi. For me it would be the JS32 because it's more of a Metal guitar. This one seems more suited to rock, but of course it can do metal as well, but it could use more powerful and brighter pickups. And the Jackson neck is also very suited for speed. The neck on this one is very confortable for a Les Paul type guitar though...

I've been using this guitar for 3 years. I tried js32 king v too. Difference is this guitar gives better clean tones and more of a suited for rock. Js32 has floyd rose bridge, so think of that too. Aside from that, look for esp ltd arrow-200 too.

You are probably referring to pickups without cover. These, on the guitar of my video, have covers, but there may be others without covers, like in the white guitar model. Please help me choose between Epiphone SG standard or This? It
@megahurtz303 жыл бұрын
well, both seem equally good choices to me... maybe i would go with this one, but, you are the one who should decide, you're the one who will play it right? ;) think what guitar would you rather pick up, if you're going to play, just by looking at it

with a lil tweaking these guitars kill anything epiphone makes

Hmm a lot of hum and the pickups definitely need to be swapped out.

This one is the FM, which i believe stands for: Flamed Maple

*This guitar or epiphone les paul studio which is better for hard rock like Guns n Roses Led Zeppelin* ......

I'd have to test that Epiphone first...

@megahurtz303 жыл бұрын
@@mertterekeci6093 Thanks! Well, there are a few i guess, if you can find something with Probuckers in the same price range, it might sound quite good, i hear good things about them. As for the LTD, in terms of body shape and maybe neck as well, it will probably be more confortable to play than an Epiphone LP

Great review.. I just bought an older version of this guitar. I feel "more authentic" playing this guitar with a high quality builds that they do then say... "other manufacturers" out there. ;-) "so says MrTom... and so it was written.."

@@megahurtz30 Really great review man. I'm pretty old guy.. I've been in the music business since 1984. I mainly write and record commercially licensed music under performance rights organization, BMI, Inc. I went for ESP / LTD because they have been around for a long time, and I wanted a solid guitar with humbuckers and did not want to go the Fender or Gibson route.. but something with a name brand attached to it... and a good price. Have a great upcoming week, stay safe out there.

@@ollieheads374 Well, if you put EMGs, it should be no problem, but with the stock humbuckers, you will need a pedal or something like that to push the gain and treble a bit higher

The PUPs are too dark tho. Fat, juicy, plumpy woods. PUPs are dead-ish... Seems to be the fault of the LTD EC-256.
