Larry and his son came to eat at my dad's restuarant and I had the chance to shake his hand. I am 6'2", 190lbs, my hand was swallowed by this huge hand and I felt like a infant shaking hands with a giant. Loved watching you play, my great pleasure to have met you and your son.

I grew up in Syracuse and went to SU, walked on to the FB team - never played/lettered and spent my “career” as a human tackling dummy on the demo team - met and knew, fairly well, a number of outstanding NFL veterans - my greatest thrill was meeting the hero of my youth - Zonk. I must have read the Larry Csonka and Jim Kickk pseudo-autobiography book “Always on the run” 10 times - Csonka and Syracuse Orange motivated me from PeeWee football league through College - thank you Larry for showing us how to play the game with class, distinction, and determination.

At 11 years old I saw a Dolphin game and watched Csonka dragging tacklers down the field and I was hooked. That was 1970 and here I am a life long Dolphin fan. I could not root for another team if I wanted to. I want to go to Alaska and fish with him. That would be a “Hoot”.

I'm 60 years old and the Dolphins became my team in 1970. I can't tell you why I picked them, but it had something to do with a story on Larry Csonka. Later after they had won 2 Superbowls and were headed to what I thought would be their fourth appearance, they played the Raiders in what was called one of the greatest games ever. I still hate the Raiders to this day because of the touchdown they scored as Stabler was being tackled and he threw a wounded duck to the worst receiver they had and he still managed to catch the ball.

Even as a Minnesotan and a long time Vikings fan, I've always loved and respected Larry Csonka (got a full poster of him scoring against us in the '72 Super Bowl amongst my wall of Vikings pictures and lore). Never realized how smart and funny this guy is as well. Really enjoyed this video! Jeff S.

There are no players like Zonk anymore. They are babies, cry babies, who cry at the least bit of what they believe is a bad hit. It's a joke nowadays!
