@@Lordidude Well, more that CGB showed why a CGB-made deck is only half the magic. He took apart his own selesnya-draw deck and showed how to use it's strength as a weakness. I've driven that deck into multiple board wipes and still managed a win. CGB was just showing off what makes him T1IBO1.

As per usual, Convert Be Trash is pushing an archetype that has no counterplay. 3 of the top 5 decks (including tier 0) is control, because you never have to worry about adapting and adjusting to counterplay except in mirror matches

The last game against Orzhov control was brutal. You slowly ground the opponent to dust with card draw and counterspells. The discarding to hand size, not looting with the Celestus, and sacrificing the Wandering Emperor to the legend rule was just gross - you had so much card advantage you didn’t need any more. It must have been awful for the opponent. “Never didn’t have it” has never been truer.
@jojojo9240 Жыл бұрын

That Wandering Emperor play around the 5 minute mark still has me scratching my head. Why let it resolve??
@ericmrx Жыл бұрын
It could be argued that the Wandering Emperor is not a major threat and counters are best saved for more impactful cards, which you can expect in a ramp deck. The Sunfall in hand can also deal with the Emperor tokens. So, IMO, it is not an obvious decision, to counter or not.

@@nottsfhj not a fair comparison. creatures+burn can be beaten by a wide variety of builds. Its balanced. Something like this, blue white control, can only be beaten by an incredibly narrow and specific build that will lose against anything else. And with mirrex, sunfall and emperor, control is even more disgustingly overpowered. oh and farewell, to get enchantments and artifacts too.
