A woman who can play bass with the same finesse and articulation as Jaco Pastoroius, sing like Flora Purim and now she has her own band ! Well deserved and well done.

You know, for the longest time, this and many other of her songs made me "smile like that". Now that my heart is open, i see you. Thank you, Esperanza for freeing me of that energy, it was heavy fa sho 😅 I'll try not to smile like that when i see you play live. Lord help me 🙏🏾

That's a good reason. I've been playing for 5 years, since I was 15. Now I'm 20 and recently I started to talk while playing, and singing what I'm playing, like "Dum dum dum da da dum da dum.". A good friend of mine told me "That's your real improvisation level."

You could say that Esperanza immerses herself in the music100%, but that would be to suggest that she and the music are two separate entities, when in fact SHE IS MUSIC- PERIOD! Love the way she bops with her body whilst she's playing. I've always loved the double bass but I've never thought it 'sexy' until I saw Esperanza one night on Jools Holland show on the BBC. She's the real deal - a rare thing that maybe comes along once in a generation, not a fake musician like Yolanda Brown.

Truly, this woman is an angel. Even though, I'm not really into this kind of jazz, I wish I were. I dig her voice and her style, but I need to learn to appreciate this music.

People that strive to be constantly improving like Esperanza or Victor Wooten or the members of your favorite band would only want to inspire others and give them something to strive for, not deter them from following their dreams. Try learning the tune!
