Please use decent (Jabra?) headsets and match your audio levels 🙏. No loudspeakers, no echo cancelling, good voice capture.

I was saying this in the stream it can get annoying to follow

A LoRa proxy for Home Assistant would be absolutely fantastic!
@lets-automate6 ай бұрын
Yes, I think adding LoRa support would be amazing. It would open up a lot of possibilities such as mailbox projects and many other long range sensors; especially as ESPHome does support the Deep Sleep functionality.

Thanks for the new logo love 🥰🥳

I would love to see shine focus more attention to risc-v (whether espressif boards, own built, base chipset support, or all) as it very much embodies the ideas of the open home.

Can I ask why there is no paste in the right click menu when editing the ymal?
@christophershepherd37476 ай бұрын
If you're not using SSL for your local instance, you won't. Something to do with security concerns. If you access through HTTPS then the "paste" option will be available. Otherwise, "ctl-v" works just the same with HTTP.

Thanks for your reply. I do use ctrl v but always wondered why no right click option and now I know 😊

It would be great if a manual adoption option were added to the ESPHome dadhboard for new devices added to a different subnet

So cool - Thanks for all the effort and thought that goes into making Magic. Grin Grabbed my Echo out while listening to do the BT thing - figure they will hide behind the TV beautifully. Currently I have 78 Tasmota devices (fixed IP) and Luv them. When HA in a Proxmox VM has a issue - all my lights & switches still work with UDP broadcasting. Have about 5 - 10 ESPHome toys including Everything Presence, S3 Box & ESP32 expeimental Voice - Trying to keep everything clean feels awkward i.e. simple naming vs file naming, rebuilding & adopting. Often I find I am in some sort of loop. Please create I nice dummy's guide to working in ESPHome, I am not talking about adding DHT temp sensors. A bit deeper 😍😍

Is anyone working on physical switches: dimmer on/off and fans? If ESPhome is so much better than matter, one would think this is in production. So many capabilities like mmWave, presence and dimmer all in one would be amazing!

This update broke my ESPHOME integration. Some problem with OTA? Never fun when that happens. Now I can't update my ESP32s or read logs. I hope this can be fixed.
@joelnod6 ай бұрын
did you read the breaking changes in the release notes?
@SolarWebsite6 ай бұрын
Yes I did and I saw the entry about "OTA", but didn't realise that was something important to my installation. I had never touched that, everything default. I'm starting to think this update broke a lot of installations around the world. I now know how to fix it, in my opinion this is either something that could been fixed by the update (have the update insert the necessary code in the YAMLs) or give clearer warnings that something is about to break in many installations. To be fair, I've not had many problems as a result of ESPHOME updates, but it does happen. And when it happens, ESPHOME feels less like fun and more like work..m

@@SolarWebsite it shouldn't have broken anything if you're not actively configuring your YAML on the latest ESPHome version, although I could be wrong
@SolarWebsite6 ай бұрын
The OTA part of the yaml code in all my ESPHOME s is default. I didn't (and don't) know what it does, so I never tinkered with that. That's what makes me think this update will break a lot of installations.
@joelnod6 ай бұрын
@@SolarWebsite while true, you should never update without reading the release notes first because even if there isn't a breaking change why would you update in the first place if you don't know what's new

Can whoever was on the stream wth terrible echo cancellation please mute themselves? It happens so frequently in HA streams that it's literally like trying to hear certain speakers from UNDER WATER.
