Personally, I absolutely loved this volume. The highlight for me was seeing Dead End reunited, and all Eris's sacrifices to be strong enough to fight at Rudy's side coming to fruition. It was honestly a thrill to read those chapters. Kalman III's fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to be a hero - seeking fame and presige for its own sake rather than gaining it organically by doing heroic deeds (and having his BS called out by Kalman II) was also chef's kiss. Also wanting to wipe out the superd villagers just because the world sees them as monsters even though he knew the truth was a low blow. Also, why am I so invested in Kalman II's character so much after only 2 volumes? I was honestly worried for him at the end of this vol. Looking forward to your thoughts on the final volume. I don't think you will be dissapointed!

That was epic. Eris stepping forwards to fight, then being joined by Ruijerd and Rudeus in turn one of those moments where they better put some badass heavy metal in the soundtrack when they adapt it.

Having read the web novel first i already got the "wtf geese!!??" moment, so i really enjoyed the geese chapters, but i totally get you, that reveal not knowing it was comming was amazing

The best part of this is when they were all trying to talk-no-jutsu Alek out of being a jerk and Eris just yoinks his arm off. Everyone is stunned but she gives this "We doing this or what?" look. Classic Eris.

Love the battles in Mushoku and can't wait for your thoughts on the finale. Seriously one of the best endings to a story ever👌🏽

I understand the idea of Geese's chapters being released differently, all at once and in later novel after the story is completed. That being said, that seems like a really bad way to release them compared to the method the author chose. They are kind of required to be released at some point, as they show the exact way each person was brought under the Man-God's yoke, and that helps when resolving that and perhaps making the way each one resolves while keeping the events grounded and believable. It should make sense how each conflict works out because we saw how the conflict was seeded and the process started. Releasing the Geese chapters interspersed with the main story keeps the flow of events easier to digest and keep abreast of, but more importantly, it keeps the tension going because this big fight continues to be that hanging Damocles' sword (where any part could get kicked off to disastrous effect). If the Geese chapters are released after this massive fight is completed, then that tension is gone, and they would risk feeling like just another set of filler material. Released in that way would also make it more difficult to keep track of what was happening when (because Geese doesn't travel in the same way and speed as Rudeus), and much more prone to readers deciding just to skip them entirely (perhaps as "nonrequired reading": perhaps new readers get a recommendation to skip them entirely). If they are in a completely seperate novel, all on their own, then that would make it easier to opt out of as well. Then there's the impact on the author's rhythm of writing, where the entire creative staff would have to take a 6 month or longer break from the characters they had been working, establishing, growing, and maintaining to do this other stuff with indirectly connected characters. Then suddenly have to go back to try and find the proper approach for the main set of characters for another year or so. If those sideline characters in Geese's chapters show up again, then the author and artists would have to remember how they were working with the material. It just overcomplicates the process, opens the doors to mistakes and inconsistencies (that fans would definitely notice and start talking about), and other small problems that could mount to seriously impact the flow of the story. Not to mention the issues if any part of the creative team changes and is replaced. The way the story currently stands is definitely a better choice for the readers, the author and the rest of the creative team as well. I don't know if it's the absolute best (because I'm not informed enough to be qualified for that topic), but this method of releasing story is really good. There are a lot of mechanics and processes involved in this story, and there are far more elements involved than just putting the words down on a page.
