Thank you so much for posting. These were the best years of my life,what I wouldnt do to be able to go back to the early 90s! I lived and breathed baseball back then. If I wasnt playing it I was watching it. Would watch games all day,then watch Sportscenter,then watch Baseball Tonight. Much simpler times

I feel like home plate umps wear a sportcoat somewhat regularly, even in the summer. I think it’s looser fitting and thus more comfortable to wear with all the protective gear

@@TheLocalLt Agree. However, home plate umpires almost never wear them at Comerica Park. Even in cool weather. Same with the short sleeve powder blue 👕. It could be 90 degrees and umpires usually wear black shirts

@@mrg8581 I’m not sure how they decide that exactly, I’ve definitely seen the umps in light blue in a dome. Heck from 2001-03 they used tan as the alternate color and for game 7 of the 03 ALCS, a primetime game if there ever was one, the umps were wearing tan shirts

@@TheLocalLt I miss the tan shirts. I also liked the navy blue shirts they wore during the late 90s.

@@mrg8581 the red alternates for those ones looked cool too. Honestly I like the current light blue the best out of the set that began in mid-2000, I think mainly because they look like the light blue ones that were used from some point in the early 80s through 1995, which I‘ve always kind of thought of as the definitive look for an umpire.

14:05 The Tigers had some sweet road uni's and caps in '94. Unfortunately, the uniforms were just a one (strike-shortened) season experiment and the hats were gone within a couple years. I thought they was dope.

As a Phillies fan, this made me mad. Thhat game they recap was one of only 3 more games Bobby Munoz would ever win in his career. He'd win only one game in his next four years of MLB play, yet Terry Mulholland, a Philly favorite, was traded for him and ended up playing ball for another 12 years and winning about 70 more games. I left the Phillies as a fan for years because of that and the way they ditched Kruk.

Dave Campbell actually talks about how Piazza and Bagwell are incredibly strong... in their hands and wrists, and don't care about torso strength or muscularity, because that stuff "doesn't help you with baseball"? 😂

Look at Bagwell when he started his MLB career with Boston...and look at him in the late 90's. It's a shame that this guy is in the HOF and instead Bonds in the Hall of Shame. I can not accept this.
