"Autzen has really become an impossible place to play since Dan Lanning came"? I hate to burst your bubble, but Autzen has been a loud and crazy environment for more than 3 decades. I remember coming home on leave and going to the game when Ty Detmer and 4th ranked BYU came to Autzen in 1990. That place was so loud that it was impossible to hear a word from the person jammed right up against you (one of the first sro games I can remember at Autzen). I don't remember the score, just that Oregon beat them handily and the whole crowd was chanting "B-Y who?" at the end of the game. It's been one of the most underrated venues in college football for a long time and has been a definite advantage for the Ducks. I love what Lanning has done here, but making Autzen a tough place to play isn't among his accomplishments.

I grew up going to every home game 1998-2007 it's always been loud. I think it was louder before the expansion. They opened up the bowl and it lets out more noise. They werent doing the decibel levels back then, but it was loud! I haven't been to a stadium even as close to this noise. Guess I'll have to go to a Chiefs and LSU game to match that level.
